Veni, vidi, vici: the effectiveness / Veni, vidi, vici: la eficacia (eng-esp)

Hello, friends of @holos-lotus.

In life, as in literature, we must strive for efficiency in everything we do. It's a principle that saves time and avoids mistakes. In literature, the art lies in saying more with fewer words. In life, it's more of the same. It's not about being cold, but about being clear and direct.

source

The first lesson is this: it's useless to talk a lot and say little, or nothing at all. Noise is not content. Caesar, the emperor, understood this perfectly. After a swift victory, all he had to say was, "I came, I saw, I conquered." With that, he said it all. He reported the fact, communicated its decisiveness, and conveyed his power, without a single superfluous adjective. He didn't need an hour-long speech. That's effectiveness: the message arrives complete, without unnecessary embellishment, and its impact is total because it's pure content.

source

Great writers understood this. Chekhov has his famous rifle rule: if a rifle is shown hanging on the wall at the beginning of a play, it must be fired before the end.

Everything we say in a story, every element, must have value, must have a function. The same applies to life. We cannot afford to say or do things that contribute nothing.

Every word, every action, must have a clear purpose. If it doesn't, it's just noise that distracts, tires, and confuses. Efficiency is the economy of effort directed toward an end.

source

Therefore, it is useless to embellish or justify the facts with empty words. Embellishments often hide the weakness of the argument or the inconsistency of the action.

Long justifications are usually excuses in disguise. Only facts matter and say everything necessary. A concrete result, a completed action, a solved problem, speak for themselves with a force that a thousand words cannot match.

Your work speaks of your competence. Your punctuality speaks of your respect. Your perseverance speaks of your determination.

source

Seeking effectiveness is, therefore, an act of respect: respect for other people's time and for your own.

It is the decision to set aside the superfluous and concentrate on the essential. It is the practice of measuring your words and actions by their real usefulness, not by their appearance. In a world full of noise, effectiveness is the most valuable and persuasive language there is.
