ChatGPT Atlas vs. Microsoft Edge: Who needs yet another AI-powered web browser? Conflict with Microsoft?
Was sagt ihr dazu?

OpenAI has now also released an AI browser that, similar to Microsoft Edge, has a chatbot integrated into the browser.
OpenAI is also promoting agent capabilities. Atlas could perform actions on web pages independently, such as automatically ordering food ingredients when you ask ChatGPT for a recipe. But is that really what you want?
It increasingly seems to me that OpenAI is competing more and more with its main investor, Microsoft, rather than truly collaborating with Microsoft.
ChatGPT vs. Copilot.
ChatGPT search vs. Bing.
Atlas vs Edge.
However, there is one small concession to Microsoft at the moment. The AI browser Atlas is currently only available for macOS, but not for Windows. Not yet, anyway.
I also wonder how OpenAI can ever become profitable with all the product releases and growing competition in the AI sector.
What do you think? What else could agent-based AI browsers do for you besides ordering products? What would you use web-based agent systems for?
Have you tried the AI in Brave, perhaps?
Yes, tried it, I think it uses an open mixtral or llama model, not quite as good as copilot though.
I see. Thanks for the review.
These two companies are literally competing on everything now. I would maybe trust an agent for research stuff but no way am I letting it buy things or fill out forms unsupervised, anything can go wrong and that'll be on me.
Good point, I would fear that the AI would make mistakes filling out forms, hallucinating, or even ordering wrong things, would not trust AI yet to spend money.
Yes exactly the hallucination problem can be enough to screw your entire account 🥶
Interesting , It really shows how fast AI is growing. I’m curious to see if ChatGPT Atlas will truly offer something new or just add to the competition. Let’s see how OpenAI handles this next step.
I don't want ai agents for searches on the internet, I want my Google and my eyes and brain
Will Microsoft ever buy OpenAI?
ChatGPT Atlas showing its agent capabilities can be the main differentiator among the competitors

I think I will stick for Microsoft Edge and Copilot for now
I don't think I want any AI browser doing any of that for me. Let's see where things go.
The Copilot is really helpful in Edge. I will try the ChatGPT Atlas
cool
