Speed Bumps and 10K HIVE Power

Well, I finally did it, I finally hit 10K HIVE Power on this account. It has been a long road filled with hard work, wins, losses, and oh so much sports. I've often questioned why I decided to create a separate account for my sports content, but I like the idea of watching this account grow organically independent of my main account. Plus, not everyone likes sports, I get that, so why would I subject my regular visitors to content they don't care about. I actually have quite a few people who follow my main account and likely know little to nothing about the existence of this account.
It's all good, like I said, not everyone likes sports. No shame, and no judgement.
I'm really loving the Sportsblock community and what they are building here. It's great to see people excited about sports on HIVE again. I've jumped in pretty deep with my MEDALS holdings, but even then, there are a handful of people who have aped in even more than me. No biggie, it gives me something to shoot for.
Meanwhile, as I have been hitting my personal milestones, the season keeps rolling along for the Radford Highlanders softball team. They had a three game series over the weekend against Charleston Southern University that opened on Friday night with a 8 to 0 run rule win in five innings for the Highlanders.
Then on Saturday they started their double header off right with another win against CSU 1 to 0. This had them on a seven game winning streak, and things were looking good heading into their second game on Saturday. Unfortunately, they fell just short falling to their opponent 1 to 0. As you can see it wasn't for lack of great pitching. They just couldn't get their bats going enough to push past Charlotte for the win.

In fact, as you can see from the photo above, the Highlanders have a 35.4% record of retiring batters three up, three down in an inning. That puts them in some pretty great company when it comes to Division I softball.
Unfortunately, things didn't get any better for them last night as Virginia Tech made the fifteen minute drive over to Radford. To be fair, VT is ranked something like 12th in the nation right now. Their record is an impressive 34-5 in the ACC. They have a powerful offense and it was going to be a tall order for the Highlanders to win against them anyway.
I think the big takeaway from the 7 to 2 loss last night is the fact that they were able to score those two runs, and that Virginia Tech didn't run rule them. They went the full 7 innings backed by some amazing relief pitching by Cooper. Our niece even got to pinch hit last night. Sadly she lined out, but it was a solid hit that probably would have blown past a less talented squad and at least given her a single if not a double.
I'm just glad she has been getting more chances lately. I know she has some amazing talent if she is just given the opportunity to let it shine.
Radford has a three game series this weekend in Farmville, Virginia against Longwood University. Thankfully, all of those games will be on ESPN+, so you know I will be watching!

10K is impressive for an alt account and at least you can be fully focused on building over here. There is plenty space on that leaderboard for you to keep climbing up so don't slow down now.
Thanks! I appreciate it! I don't plan on just rolling over! :)
Congrats. Well deserved!
Consistency and quality is king. I like those personal stories!
Thank you! I appreciate it! I love writing them. Maybe even a little more than my main blog sometimes! :)
