AUSL Update

My nieces travel team that she coaches along with her dad and a couple other people had a double header last night. They are called the Revolution Elite, but unfortunately they didn't live up to that name losing both games 3 to 1 and 7 to 3 respectively. My brother in law confessed the other day that he hates these middle of the week double headers, but he isn't the one who sets the schedule, so he just goes along with it.

Meanwhile, as I said yesterday, the AUSL has been chugging along even while most people are intently focused on the World Cup. I know nobody actually reads these posts, but I clearly haven't been following the World Cup, so when @mrsbozz asked me the other day if any teams had been eliminated yet from the competition, I didn't have an answer for her. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Anyway, let's get to the AUSL scores for the Athletes Unlimited Softball League.

We have to go all the way back to the 18th of June when Utah took down Texas 4 to 3, and Oklahoma City took a loss against Portland 3 to 0.

On Friday the 19th, Utah had another big win against Texas 6 to 1, and Oklahoma City got some revenge against Portland beating them 6 to 1 as well.

Saturday June 20th brought us two more games with Carolina hammering Chicago 8 to 0 and Utah beating Texas with the same score. It kind of feels a bit scripted doesn't it? Trust me, it isn't. It's a heck of a lot of fun to watch too, if you ever come across it as you are flipping through the channels.

On Sunday the 21st there was just one game played. There were supposed to be two, but the Carolina vs. Chicago game got postponed I'm guessing due to weather. Meanwhile, the game between Oklahoma City and Portland ended in a 4 to 3 OKC win.

Monday this week we had another two games with Chicago beating Carolina 5 to 1, and Utah taking down Oklahoma City 5 to 1 as well. Trust, me it's not scripted, I promise!

Finally, yesterday, Texas beat Chicago 6 to 2, and Utah handed Oklahoma City a loss 6 to 3.

There is just one game today, and then one game tomorrow before we head into the weekend. Two games on Friday, three games on Saturday, and then two games on Sunday.

With only six teams in the league, it can feel a bit repetitive at times, but if you go back and look at the scores, you will see they are pretty evenly matches, so each game is a completely new experience.

I'll be really sad when the league finally wraps up at the end of July.
