A Small Homestead Win: Our Chickens Finally Laid Eggs

Good news from our little homestead today. 😍
Our chickens have FINALLY started laying eggs!! 🥳

For us, it feels like a victory worth sharing with this community. ☺️
Almost a month ago, I shared here about our chickens starting on proper layer feeds.
At that time, there was a mix of hope and uncertainty.
Thinking if our extra effort is worth it, if they will respond to our nutrition and care.
But because we committed to it, giving them what they truly deserve...
It paid off today! ✨

Actually, our whole family became part of the process.
My hubby who's more inspired today, prepares their food by gathering fresh leaves to add to their diet.

He also invites the kids to help.

Ryzen, especially, was an expert on this.
It's his favorite outdoor play.

My hubby will mix this into the layer feeds.
Day after day, we fed them well.
Making sure they had clean water and kept their space calm and clean.
Just steady attention, repeated acts of care, and something beautiful was already taking shape.
Seeing those first eggs felt deeply rewarding.
It encourages us to keep going.
A reminder that when we invest time and kindness into our animals, they respond in their own time.

So, for our fellow homesteaders who might also be waiting for their chickens' first eggs, keep at it. ☺️
Sometimes progress is happening even when you can't see it yet. 💙
Until my next egg harvest...
Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸

Wow! That's incredibly a milestone! It's indeed a source of excitement and pride for you as the chicken keeper. Cheers to more eggs in the future! 😇
