The Truck Is Now Home, Rain, Rainbows, Unloading, Moon, Kraken - Saturday
Woke to the clouds streaming over the Missoula basin yesterday morning and after a while headed for coffee and tea next door at Starbucks.

We were out of the hotel and to my truck by 9:45am where I checked the oil to see it WAS super low. I put in most of a quart and was able to get it started. It sounded like pure garbage but there was no banging of the pistons on the heads. The engine was kind of running so I put it in gear and began the drive.

I had to get the truck about a mile from the storage unit to the TA travel center by the freeway. The truck managed to do 45 mph on the road as I hugged the side with my emergency flashers on. The engine felt like only half of it was working.

I made it to the TA and backed in to a gravel area where there would be enough space for the tow truck to pull the truck onto the bed.
During the wait I looked around the motor and found that it IS losing oil from the rear of the motor somewhere. I might have popped the rear main seal judging by where the oil was coming from...

It was a bit of a slog to get AAA to okay the tow but in the end they finally did and we were dispatched a driver.

Super cool driver who had his wife with. He was very similar to my other tow driver in attitude and personality. These tow drivers know their shit and have both been good people.

Thankfully he was able to load up the truck in nice clear weather and then we were all on the road for home.

We passed a small rain storm to the south of us and it gave us a small rainbow.

The storm was wide and we drove through the width of it on the return trip home.

Then we hit the PERFECT area. The sun was shining from the southwest, the clouds had parted in front of it, and it was raining good on us on the freeway.

To the east of us a rainbow shined INSANELY bright and SUPER close to the car. It was full on and truly within a hundred yards. The optical effect of it was crazy cool.

Over lookout pass in the dumping rain and into Idaho. It finally stopped raining a little while after we got back to the farm.

We were home by 2:45pm where I was able to get the yard ready for the truck's arrival.

The rain was just finishing though the sprinkles held on for a while longer.

Just before 4pm they arrived and my truck was home. I had been thinking as I had been pacing waiting for the okay from AAA that I wanted to give the driver a load of potatoes and garlic as thanks so I made sure to get 2 bags of spuds, yellow and red, and then I made up a pound bag of about 6 different garlics. They were both VERY thankful as we were of them.
They made a trip out of the deal and stopped in Spokane Valley on their way back for a good meal and some shopping.

It's rather bitter sweet having my truck back. I have an idea of what fucked up but won't know until I yard the engine out of it. I now have to come up with the $5k to order the new engine, plus the $3-400 for the portable garage I have to have to work on this thing over the winter.

Printed out finger protectors for @stryeyz after her finger injury during the tree hauling day.

The moon looked killer with the clouds last night. Here our Starlink is making an appearance.

My shoulder is finally mellow enough to allow me to get back at the board, even just for a short amount each time. Still my form is there though and I'm keeping okay grouping and general aim.

Damn Kraken. At least they got another point for the OT but they keep losing then.

Of course I was up at 4:30am this morning. And it's getting light out at 6am instead of 7. I will finish unloading my truck and take the topper off the rack today. Sporting games are on, I have to look at the fence potential for the rest of the farm before the hard freezes lock the ground.
