When Currency Becomes Courage: The Psychology of Financial Preparedness

Saving is something that we may find boring when we are young but as we understand the true colors of life we know the value of saving it is not a concept from a textbook but a feeling It is emotional a comfort zone and like we have an elder brother in our house who comes at times and sometimes not but secretly helps us in every difficult time saving is also like that.

When salary has arrived or some money comes in hand the first thought is what to buy which thing to buy what place to visit and it is also important to enjoy every pleasure but that enjoyment gets value only when you have a strong base that is the base when the money is saved and spent then that money never works but when you first save and then spend the saved money then that money becomes the protector of your future.

I have seen many people around me who earn a lot of money they have a good lifestyle and branded clothes parties on weekends everything but as soon as an emergency came everything became empty and because saving was not a concept in their life they were earning money but were not able to manage the money and when money is not managed the balance of life gets disturbed.

Once such a phase came in my life and everything was going normal and I was getting my salary on time I was enjoying buying small things but suddenly a health issue came up the doctor at home said that I would have to undergo surgery and that too with insurance taking insurance doesn't solve everything and then I realized that saving is not just an option it is a necessity if I had not saved money little by little beforehand I would have been helpless at that time and I believe that saving is like my elder brother who made me his own and never left me alone that day.

Saving is a real habit that may seem forced at first and as if someone has said that you have to do it but after spending some time that habit becomes a comfort zone and when you have a small emergency fund then you do not take much stress and when you know that no matter what happens you have a basic backup then the way of living life also changes and you will be able to take more frilly decisions and you have a choice that is made not by force but by planning.

Many times people say that savings will happen only when the income is high but I believe that saving is a mindset, not the amount whether you are earning Rs 10000 or Rs 1 lakh if you keep a little money aside every month you are developing a good habit and that habit makes your friend finance list strong with time and this is not an illusion you just need a little understanding and discipline.

When we save we don't do it just for ourselves we also do it for our family their future and their dreams have you ever thought that if your parents had not saved some money for you where would you be today they kept their decision aside so that you could fulfill your needs and that was the only saving now that we have grown up we also have that responsibility.

Saving makes you financially independent you don't need to beg anyone you can switch jobs whenever you want whether you start a business or work for a new goal if you have savings confidence comes automatically because you know that if anything goes wrong there is a cushion this cushion is your elder brother who saves you from failure every time.

Another thing that people ignore is the compound effect when you start saving in the beginning it seems that nothing special is happening just saving a little money but when with time that money starts earning interest gets invested grows then its real value is understood and one day that small amount becomes a huge amount and then it seems that yes this has become the support of my dreams.

There will always be risks in life and whenever there will be some big expense or some family emergency anything can happen but if you have savings then you will not panic you will make decisions after thinking you will think emotionally and practically about life and all this is possible only because you had shown discipline at one time you had made your elder brother one.

I remember once it was my friend's wedding and all the friends contributed and took gifts but I was a financial type at that time still I wanted to do something for him then my savings saved my honor I took out some money from myself and did not borrow from anyone I followed my path he will understand one-day savings are not only used as an emergency fund but also useful in happy moments.

In childhood when we used to fall our elder brothers would always hold our hands and lift us and whenever we faced any problem we would cry on their shoulders whenever we did not understand anything our guardian was always helpful and today if you want to create such a support system in your life then it is saving and it will support your decisions it will fuel your dreams and will produce results from your failures.

Life is not the same all the time and everything is fine today nobody knows what will happen tomorrow but if we are careful today and plan wisely tomorrow will be easier saving is not rocket science it is just a habit that protects us like your elder brother everything is uncertain in this world everywhere and at all times but if something is in your control it is your discipline towards yourself and this discipline is a great example saving which seems small today will become a big support for you tomorrow.

So start making him your elder brother from today itself and keep something aside for him every month make him strong so that whenever life takes a turn he always stands in front of you like an elder brother and says don't worry I am here.
