The Talents I Never Really Learned But I Can Do So Well
Sometimes I just sit and wonder how I started doing some things without really learning them from anywhere. I know some people go to school or pay to learn skills, but for me, there are some things I just picked up like play and now they’ve become part of me.
One of those things is graphic design. I didn’t go to any design school or pay anybody to teach me. I just saw people creating nice flyers and logos online and I felt like trying it. I downloaded Canva first, and later I moved to using more advanced tools. The funny part is, the first design I ever made, someone paid me for it 😅. I didn’t even know how to price it well that time. I was just happy that someone saw what I did and liked it.
With time, I started designing more things church flyers, business cards, logos and all that. I kept watching YouTube videos and practicing every day. Even though I didn’t sit in a classroom to learn, design just flows naturally for me. I can carry someone’s idea and turn it into something beautiful without stress.so when i see i love this,i decided to go for Ui/ux training,so i now learn how to design website, and mobile application.
Another one is video editing. I remember I started with CapCut just for fun. I will edit random videos with music and text, and my friends will be like “Wow, this is good!” From there, I started editing birthday videos, short clips, and even promo videos. Now I use tools like Premiere Pro too. Sometimes when I see people editing video in a hard way, I feel like showing them the easy trick I use 😂. It’s like my brain just understands how the timing, cuts and transitions should be.
Then the one that surprises people the most is plaiting hair. I didn’t learn it from any salon or apprentice work. It started when I was small. I used to plait my doll’s hair, then I moved to my younger sister’s hair. Before I knew it, I was making people’s hair in the compound. The day someone called me to make her hair and paid me, I was shocked.
Now I can do different styles like all back, two step, weaving and even Ghana weaving. People always ask me who trained me, and I just smile and say, “Nobody.” I didn’t learn it formally, but my hand and my eye just understand hair.
I believe some things are natural gifts. Yes, it’s good to learn and get better, but sometimes God just blesses us with something we can do easily without stress. For me, it’s designing, editing videos, and plaiting hair. These are things I never learned in the real sense, but I can do them so well that people even pay me for it.
I’m really grateful for these talents, and I hope to keep improving them and maybe teach others too one day. That’s my little story of things I never learned, but I can do like I’ve been doing it all my life.
It was Because of Ponzi that made to know how to design. How???😅
I had a team and we wanted to have our own site and we needed fliers for adverts. That was it, i downloaded canva and the rest was history 😅
Wow that's nice
