Prevention of situations from happening is the best approach to avoiding some problems

c

Many people expect miracles in almost every situation in their lives. While many people want to depend on miracles for their daily lives, it is unwise to expect miracles to happen in all unpleasant situations, especially the ones we created by ourselves, deliberately or ignorantly. Miracles happen when we least expect them; that is why it is a supernatural intervention in human affairs. It is like a quick fix in a situation, hence, it will amount to foolhardiness to depend solely on miracles for daily survival. Most people live their lives without proper planning, no ambition, and no attempt toward work, hence, they expect miracles to happen. It will not happen. Life was not designed for people to leave by miracle, but by principles. The principles of life are sacrosanct, and anyone who lives by them enjoys the fruit thereof.

The best approach toward avoiding a situation is by preventing it from happening. I have seen many people struggling to get out of certain situations they put themselves in; they have applied many approaches, yet it seems there is no way out. Most of these situations would not have happened in the first place if they had tried everything possible to prevent those situations from happening. Being in an unpleasant situation unknowingly is a different ball game compared to people who walk themselves into a bad situation. A friend of mine at school in my 200 level decided to a hard drug to give a try. He knew pretty well the effect of taking the substance; hence, one fateful Sunday, he decided to take it, and he immediately became mentally ill. If not for the timely intervention of his family members, who rehabilitated him.

So many advantages stand out when we prevent situations from happening rather than finding a way out of them. First is that, you will be saved from unnecessary worries and anxieties, which are detrimental to the well-being of a person, moreover, you will not have to spend resources like money to remedy the situation. Your money can be channelled to other important things. Most people do not get out of situations unhurt; they do so with scars. Most road accidents are avoidable, but due to the carelessness and recklessness of some drivers, they end up in accidents. Some who survive do so with scars, while some end up losing their lives in the process. Time is of great essence in the affairs of human beings. Many people are where they are because they wasted their time on unnecessary things. The time they spend looking for solutions to their problems could be useful in many areas of their lives. When this happens, growth is halted, and delay becomes inevitable.

Among every other thing that should be avoided in this life, one should try everything possible to avoid and prevent getting into an unpleasant situation. No matter how tempting it might look, learn to build a barricade against such happenings.

Your point about how people sometimes create problems for themselves either through carelessness or ignorance is very valid. Prevention is indeed far better than cure. Life indeed responds better to principles than to wishful thinking.

The story of your friend is a painful reminder that some decisions, even if taken once, can alter our entire lives. It’s also a lesson on how one moment of indulgence or recklessness can take years to recover from that is if recovery even comes at all. Many people hope for last-minute interventions, forgetting that life doesn't always offer a second chance.

I believe miracles still have their place, especially in situations beyond human control. Sometimes, despite our best efforts and planning, things still fall apart. As you rightly said, building your life around the idea that miracles will bail you out of every bad decision is indeed dangerous.
