Hi community!

The former player returned to the team on Monday, although he has yet to sign a new contract.

He will primarily focus on the midfielders and youth players and is not expected to travel.

Thiago Alcantara has been working with Hansi Flick's coaching staff since last Monday. The former Barça player, among other top clubs, has returned to the staff, although his contract has yet to be signed. His role won't change much from last season.

On the tactical front, "Thiago will be Thiago," explains insiders. He will participate in training and will focus specifically on working with the midfielders, especially the younger ones, as he did with Marc Casadó last season. He will also closely monitor Marc Bernal, whom he mentored during his first spell there. His experience will be a key asset for the Berga-born midfielder, who should soon be medically discharged. Thiago knows what it means to be a youth player with potential at Barça and, unfortunately, also what it means to overcome a serious injury and reintegrate into the team.

Although he will be part of the coaching staff, his work will primarily be carried out at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. In fact, he is not expected to travel with the team. In Sant Joan Despí, he will carry out field and locker room work, playing an important role in the day-to-day management of the youth team. This role of support and advice is supported by his own experience at a club as demanding as Barça.

Thiago Alcantara accepted Hansi Flick's initial proposal last summer, when the German arrived at the Barça dugout. He joined as an external collaborator, conditioned by two factors: he had just retired and wanted to dedicate more time to his family, and certain tax issues forced him to return to England until the end of the year.

He was due to return in January, but the team was functioning perfectly and no one wanted to disrupt the system. The idea was postponed until the end of the season. Flick always wanted him on his staff, but it was necessary to find a formula that also fit with the former international's priorities. That meeting was sealed in the summer, in Formentera, during Flick's vacation. Family matters remained essential to Thiago, and the solution was clear: no travel, just Ciutat Esportiva. Since Monday, he has been spending eight hours a day at the Barça facilities.

See You soon!

since he is not traveling, parking himself at Ciutat Esportiva eight hours a day feels perfect for shaping those young mids. The focus on Casadó and Bernal sounds spot on, and and his injury know how will really help when pressure hits. Contract not signed yet, but the ADmin bit will catch up once the fit is clear. Quiet roles like this often make the biggest difference, as long as the coffee holds up.
