BBH FOUNDATION FUNDING 1 - HELP PEOPLE IN CUBA & BEYOND, ONBOARD THEM TO HIVE
The goal of this proposal is to see if there is enough interest to get it funded.
I am asking for only 100 HBD a day for 10 days for a total of 1000 HBD.
This is a humanitarian and onboarding to Hive proposal. That simple.
BACK STORY
@cathyarrow and I have started @thebbhfoundation to help people in Cuba and beyond. We are starting with a family in Cuba. Cathy met the family when she is in Cuba in 2025. And we all know what has happened since then.
Cathy wanted to help them financially but we found the cost of transactions from Canada to Cuba was large. So me being on Hive going on 7 years I had the idea of using HBD and Hive to help this family.
This does two things, it gets people onboarded to Hive as they need to be on Hive to receive the funds.
With the help of @hivecuba and others in Cuba people can convert HBD and or Hive and get their bank cards loaded with either CUP(Cuban Pesos) or USD.
We started with an initial funding of 100 HBD as that was aprox 100 USD with our first family. It started with the husband @valderalazaro and then his wife @diazktty. If you check them out they have become productive Hivers. Blogging everyday and learning to engage.
This does not only grow Hive but it gives them power to start earning. And when the average wage for average Cubans is the equivalent of 6 to 10 USD a month, you can see the power, the empowerment they can have in become self sufficient. And that could lead them to unboarding others.
I will be 100 percent transparent and reporting where the money goes and try and report what it is being used for.
Cathy and I continue to support this one family, for things like healthy food for their one year old child.

@cathyarrow y yo fundamos @thebbhfoundation para ayudar a personas en Cuba y otros lugares. Comenzamos con una familia en Cuba. Cathy conoció a la familia durante su visita a Cuba en 2025. Y todos sabemos lo que sucedió desde entonces.
Cathy quería ayudarlos económicamente, pero descubrimos que el costo de las transacciones de Canadá a Cuba era muy elevado. Como llevo casi 7 años en Hive, se me ocurrió la idea de usar HBD y Hive para ayudar a esta familia.
Esto tiene dos beneficios: primero, permite que la gente se una a Hive, ya que necesitan estar registrados para recibir los fondos.
Con la ayuda de @hivecuba y otras personas en Cuba, se pueden convertir HBD o Hive y recargar las tarjetas bancarias con CUP (pesos cubanos) o USD.
Comenzamos con una financiación inicial de 100 HBD, que equivalía aproximadamente a 100 USD, para nuestra primera familia. Empezó con el esposo, @valderalazaro, y luego con su esposa, @diazktty. Si los conocen, verán que se han convertido en usuarios productivos de Hive. Publican en su blog a diario y aprenden a interactuar.
Esto no solo impulsa el crecimiento de Hive, sino que también les da la posibilidad de empezar a generar ingresos. Y considerando que el salario promedio de un cubano promedio equivale a entre 6 y 10 USD al mes, se puede apreciar el poder y el empoderamiento que pueden tener para ser autosuficientes. Esto podría llevarlos a incorporar a otros usuarios.
Seré totalmente transparente e informaré sobre el destino del dinero y sobre su uso.
Cathy y yo seguimos apoyando a esta familia, por ejemplo, proporcionándoles alimentos saludables para su hijo de un año.

As a Cuban, this kind of proposal resonates on a very real level. Sometimes people outside don’t fully see how impactful even small amounts can be here, not just economically, but as an opportunity to access something different.
What I find most valuable is not only the financial help, but the way this creates a bridge into Hive — giving people the chance to learn, participate, and eventually grow on their own.
That combination of support + integration feels meaningful.
I appreciate the transparency and the intention behind helping one family at a time. From here, that already makes a difference.

Hive needs more money to come in. Not come out.

Many of them had years and years to become self sufficient. Yet, the majority if not all just leeched and leeched and they have pretty much zero hp.

This does not need funding and more about delegation to see if they will grow their accounts or not. Hive is not a charity and needs users who grow their accounts and not always sending to the exchanges. The price is under pressure and this may be a good idea in the future, but right now not a great idea.
