Indeed it is very tempting, thinking about how it could help by eliminating disease and illness and even defects is tempting.
But I am pretty sure the first person that pushed for this science break never had a perfect child making in mind. But here we are today. It just feels weird and not right.

The idea of using science to eliminate diseases and improve quality of life is truly tempting and full of potential. But, as you said, the original intention isn’t always focused on creating “perfect children” — unfortunately, along the way, these technologies can be used in ways that raise complex ethical questions.
