I left my comfort behind a long time ago, when, helpless to watch things happen that I couldn't change, I decided to leave the country. I abandoned my home, a secure but poorly paid job, my family, friends, my usual paths, and a roof over my head every night. I left in search of a future full of possibilities.

I was disillusioned with waiting for a change that never came, with watching a group of newly rich and powerful people take over such a beautiful country, dismantling it day by day until it fell to pieces.

Many citizens, like me, decided to leave their comfort zones and venture down new paths. Some managed to put down roots in new places and prosper; others, however, face challenges and still strive for a better life.

I arrived in a new country that opened its doors to me. It wasn't easy, and I knew the road would be full of obstacles. However, I tried. Today, I don't regret the journey I undertook. I learned that sometimes, it's not in our hands to change certain things. I understood that the land of our birth is our mother. The rich and powerful can take many things from us, but they can never take away our hope.

Although I spent much of my youth leaving comfort zones behind, I don't regret it. I've returned with more experiences, a learned path, and renewed patience. They, the rich and powerful, are still in the same place. But in my country they say that every evil lasts a hundred years.

El tema del concurso que nos invita a reflexionar es:

Dejando atrás la comodidad

Dejé atrás mi comodidad hace mucho tiempo, cuando, ante la impotencia de ver cómo sucedían cosas que no podía cambiar, decidí irme del país. Abandoné mi hogar, un trabajo seguro aunque mal remunerado, a mis familiares, amigos, mis caminos habituales y un techo donde dormir cada noche. Me fui en busca de un futuro lleno de posibilidades.

Estaba desilusionada de esperar un cambio que nunca llegaba, de observar cómo un grupo de nuevos ricos y poderosos se adueñaba de un país tan hermoso, desmantelándolo día a día hasta volverlo añicos.

Muchos ciudadanos, al igual que yo, decidieron dejar la comodidad y aventurarse por nuevos caminos. Algunos lograron sembrar raíces en nuevos lugares y prosperaron; otros, sin embargo, enfrentan desafíos y aún luchan por un mejor bienestar.

Llegué a un nuevo país que me abrió sus puertas. No fue fácil, y sabía que el camino estaría lleno de obstáculos. Sin embargo, lo intenté. Hoy, no me arrepiento del viaje que emprendí. Aprendí que, a veces, no está en nuestras manos cambiar ciertas cosas. Comprendí que la tierra donde nacimos es nuestra madre. Los ricos y poderosos pueden quitarnos muchas cosas, pero jamás podrán arrebatar nuestra esperanza.

Aunque al dejar atrás la comodidad pasé gran parte de mi juventud, no me lamento. He regresado con más experiencias, un camino aprendido y una paciencia renovada. Ellos, los ricos y poderosos, siguen en el mismo lugar. Pero en mi país dicen que no hay mal que dure cien años.
