There appears to have been a major increase in downvoting activity.
I suspect that it is motivated my a desire to control the rewards pool. They seem to after people who make regular posts.

Right now it's not too big of a problem. My goal is to build up HP for @holovision.make so I can free up the HP my main @holovision is delegating to that account. Their downvotes don't affect the token rewards too much. I can turn around and swap those tokens for Hive to stake to @holovision.make.
What does real Irreparable damage is that they could tank the reputation score of @holovision.make with their unexplained downvoting. The account is literally "holovision.make" and I am posting my own DIY so that is germane content. So why the downvotes from @hurtlocker and @antiabuse2?
There seems to be some hostility to the alt-coins on hive-engine. Perhaps their idea is that struggling alt-coins devalue HIVE.
Poorly designed alt-coins can hurt hive. However, I think that alt-coins are the best long term hope for the platform.

So @hurtlocker said in his most recent post that he is now downvoting as a new project. He claimed in the post that he was open to feedback but when I replied to his post requesting the feedback he claimed that I wasn't "respectful" and proceeded to downvote even more of my posts.
Apparently this is a power trip thing for @hurtlocker. He downvotes with no clear reason given, which in itself seems disrespectful to me. How is he supposed to expect the Hive users he downvotes to improve without the feedback he claims he is open to but won't voluntarily give? Then when I point that out he retaliates with more downvotes.
I’m just trying to walk down the street, eat a bean burrito, and have a good time.
Is that so much to ask?
Your indiscriminate (subjectively judged by me) downvotes make it seem like you are throwing rocks through shop windows as you mosey along.

Holovision has been trying to support the different hive tribes.
The structure of hive tribes forces tribal curators to have multiple accounts. I have certain objections to the structure of tribes, but downvoting tribal curators ends up hurting the whole hive ecosystem.
