Weekend Visit to the Farm
I was (am) stressed and my mom, that already have planned a walk to her godfather farm, suggested me to join them. I say yes.
We started walk in the early morning and bring with us Lila too. The farm it's CloseFar: close to the city but a few Kilometers of walk. Remember, Santiago de Cuba city is surrounded by mountains.
Lila I was happy, running like there's no tomorrow. And that was good for her to liberate energy and stress.
We walk all the way talking and we see a few the havoc caused by Hurricane Melissa 4 months ago. People that after that just moved out or left things abandoned.
When we arrive we start to diggin in search of Sagú a edible tubes or root (in fact looking for this was the main objective). If you don't know the Sagú It requires a process where its juice or pulp is extracted, left to dry and then used to prepare drinks or thicken others. It's delicious.
While we were digging, my mom took the opportunity to clean the roots.

Do it in place save us Weight when transporting and helps to return some nutrients to the soil. Of course, while it is being extracted, some seed is replanted to harvest again next year.
After that I intended a technique to obtain postures of a lemon plant that has already borne fruit. Which would allow me to obtain in 1 year a tree that already bears fruit. I don't have photos of this because I pricked myself a lot with the thorns during the process, plus the ants had feasted on me. The sun was already high so the return was a little more exhausting Taking into account also the fatigue of the work. Even Lila did not have much encouragement to run and she already felt the heat.
In short, it was a good day, a different one and either because of exhaustion or to release stress I think I will sleep better today.
