I truly do love it when families hold on to certain items because of the memory they carry. It's a habit I believe in and I'm glad this is what your family has practiced in regards to your worn-out Christmas tree. We used to have one when Christmas day was very significant to us, and just like your family, we always redecorated every year. Eventually, it shed off completely, and we had to take it out. I still miss it, and I hope to get one for myself when I move into my own place
