so far in my playing I put combat over to auto pretty early. At first this option annoyed me but now I am glad it is there. During important fights especially ones with gimmicks I take over manual control. I now like that this option exists in the game as it makes the random encounters less annoying. Just bring plenty of healing herbs along!
