WaltInAsia 14 - Singapore

The second part of discovering Singapore, one of my favorite city. I am starting with pictures of Marine bay sand again, I really like this building and it really make me think of Singapore straight away.

It is a cool area to walk around, have a coffee or juice along the path, maybe some music will be playing, its what happened to me last year. there you can for a night view as well.

This was taken with my old phone so night picture isn't the best, I can really spot the difference now compare to my Pixel 8 pro which does real good picture, that was an upgrade.

Garden by the bay

For me it is a must do when the weather is nice, and it is a place where I would bring people too. Really cool nature setup and many plants inside the cloud forest. Cool ambiance.

It is located very close to Marina bay so you can walk to it from the mall area or take public transport to it.
In Singapore you can rely on public transport a lot, I tried metro, buses and a lot a of walking as well.

Second day, more about culture

I was staying in Chinatown, I was close to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple which was my first destination in the morning, it is a multi level temple with a lift. A very spiritual place, I probably spent nearly 2 hours over there. At some point you can see the relic on one of the floor and there are a lot of explanation inside.

The second part of the day was didcated to a Claude Monet exhibition, they did bring a lot of his painting at the gallery.

I also took the time to write and post a letter. Singapore post is very efficient, I think the stamp was less then 1€ and it reached France in 5 days or so. A domestic stamp in France is more expensive then that.

My last night at the Night safari

For my last evening in Singapore I choose the night safari, I did a nature day as well, going to the botanical garden before and taking the bus after for the night safari near the Singapore zoo.

Pretty cool experience, did a show, animal feeding and walks around the park at night is very peaceful. It is a pretty big place with a lot of people so you have to book your seat once inside for the shows if you want a specific time otherwise you can just free roam and follow the trial.

Conclusion

This is the last part of my Singapore discovery, the final day was about spending time at a mall, eating, did a tech show that was happening at the same time and headed towards the border to catch my very small train ride to Johor in Malaysia which is what the next post will be about.

Bonus tip: Accommodation in Singapore is more expensive then in the rest of Asia, look for deals in adavnce if you want to keep cost low.

This is part of my previous trip to Asia last year in 2024, I was in Singapore from the 13th of November to the 16th of November, 4 days / 3 nights.

I've always imagined how beautiful Singapore is, I used to want to go to Singapore or go abroad there. I'm truly amazed at how beautiful it is just in the picture, how much more so when you see it in person. I love Singapore ever since but I never had the chance to go.

That sounds like an amazing way to wrap up your Singapore trip! The night safari is such a unique experience there’s something magical about exploring nature after dark and seeing the animals in a totally different light. Pairing it with a visit to the botanical garden made your day feel perfectly balanced between calm and adventure. Sounds like a memorable last night indeed!
