Tenaz - Glue for school | Cola para escola [EN/PT]

As I mentioned in the post Empty-headed, where I tried to reproduce an important and somewhat traumatic person from my childhood, this Challenge: Drawing (almost) every day on iPad is bringing up many memories from the time I was a kid.

Today, the artwork recalls a product present in the school supply lists from elementary school, a supposedly mandatory item, used in activities alongside scissors, paper and colored pens and pencils: Tenaz glue. I don't know if there were others, but where I lived, everyone bought this brand called Tenaz here in Brazil, which may not even be manufactured anymore.

Besides the lessons involving gluing letters cut from magazines and newspapers, I enjoyed the experience so much that, as I mentioned in the previous post, I started making Paper Toys myself, where glue was essential. When the Tenaz glue ran out, because I used so much of it, I even resorted to white rice (at home we made it in the Japanese style, the gohan), but the result wasn't as good.

Unlike the Origami Samurai Helmet, which was made using only folds and interlocking pieces, the paper craft I learned from the first issue of Recreio Magazine used glue and scissors. Remembering the brand and the product, which came in two colors, red and blue (supposedly washable), made the drawing look similar to the one I posted here in Good-smelling aftershave lotion.

In the artwork, I decided to make the background inspired by how my school uniform pants looked, full of dried glue that, because it was from the red marked recipient, wouldn't come off even after washing. Remembering it now, I have the feeling that it might have looked a bit disgusting to anyone who saw me wearing it; I can imagine the reaction of the teachers, my little fellow classmates, and their mothers.

Como comentei no post Cabeça oca, onde tentei reproduzir uma personagem importante e de certa forma traumática da minha infância, este Desafio: Desenhando (quase) todo dia no iPad está fazendo emergir muitas memórias do tempo de criança.

Desta vez a arte resgata um produto presente nas listas de material escolar da época da escola primária, item supostamente obrigatório, usado nas atividades ao lado da tesoura, papel, canetinha e lápis de cor, a cola Tenaz. Não sei se existiam outras mas onde morava todo mundo comprava desta marca chamada Tenaz, que talvez nem seja mais fabricada.

Além das lições colando letras recortadas de revistas e jornais, gostei tanto da experiência que, como contei no post anterior, comecei eu mesmo a fazer Brinquedos de papel, onde a cola era essencial. Quando acaba a cola Tenaz, de tanto que usava, eu até recorria ao arroz branco (em casa fazíam no estilo japonês, o gohan), mas o resultado não era tão bom.

Diferente do Capacete de samurai em origami, que foi feito usando só dobraduras e encaixes, o paper craft que aprendi desde o primeiro número da Revista Recreio, usava cola e tesoura. Ter lembrado da marca e do produto, que vinham em 2 cores, vermelho e azul (supostamente lavável), fez o desenho ficar parecido com o que postei aqui em Loção pós-barba com cheiro bom.

Na arte resolvi fazer o fundo inspirado em como ficava minha calça do uniforme escolar, cheio de cola grudada que, por ter sido da marca vermelha, não saia mesmo depois de lavar. Lembrando agora fiquei com a sensação de que podia parecer meio nojento pra quem me via vestindo aquilo, imagino a reação das professoras, os coleguinhas e suas mães eventualmente.
