The Joy of Manggahan 🥭 Colorful Street Dance - Part 1

It was a sunny afternoon when my husband and I scrambled our way to the sidewalk. The pavement was packed with people waiting for the street dance. This is one of the awaited events during the Manggahan Festival.

People waited patiently for more than an hour.

Suddenly, the loud beats of the drums echoed through the streets. Everyone was so excited that they started clapping.

The very first ones to perform are the blue clusters. They were wearing white t-shirts with the new Manggahan logo. They also have native woven straw hats with big blue ribbons. Ladies were wearing puffy light-blue skirts made of shiny fabric. The men were wearing light-blue pants with layered pleated fabric that swayed with their moves.

The next cluster is more colorful than the first one. They also wear straw hats, but instead of ribbons they put a plaid band with mangos on the front. They also wear white t-shirts, but they added ruffled layers of yellow, green, blue, purple, and red fabric.

The men wore off-white pants with plaid bottom. The women wore layered skirts. Flip-flops are their footwear.

They moved gracefully in every beat.

The third cluster is more energetic than the first two. They have more arm movements and louder cheers. People love them and even mimic their cheers.

Their costumes are composed of three colors: green, white, and red. They have a green bandana headband and green fabric in their hands.

After the three colorful clusters, it was followed by the employees of the Provincial Administrator's Office. They wore white t-shirts with the Manggahan logo.

The first 3 performers did great. People were cheering for more.

I'll share more in the next part 😊

I'm not fond of watching street dance performances, but I like to witness the costumes of the participants. They're truly colorful.
