The amount of HIVE paid out to VOCUP holders is surprisingly high.
Well, yes and no! It all depends on one's holding. But, it's true that lately (with HIVE coin prices going significantly down) it has been very hard to stay on track. We are doing a lot of "acrobatics" to keep it that way, and that is also preventing us from moving forward with our project plans. Anyhow, we are continuing with it, though a bit more slowly than we thought, but with enough patience and persistence, we'll get there. š

Your "Yikes!" at the end of the sentence made us laugh aloud! š
We are aware it might look like a lot. On the other hand, it's not, for various reasons.
(I.e., when we started this project, 3.5 years ago, we were buying Hive for about $0.600 per one Hive.
Our 1st Edition tokens cost 5 Hive per VOCUP token, meaning about $3 per token.
Today when Hive's price is circling around $0.080, and the price of out token is 20 Hive, it means that actual price of our token is almost half of initial edition token price, or to be precise $1.6.
And that's only one aspect of how this can be observed.)
However, in our Announcement post we said in advance that,
"Each new batch (edition) will cost approximately (up to) twice as much as the previous one."
We already adjusted some things on the go, but we have to stick to some (if not always and entirely, at least sometimes and in some portion) if we want to proceed with this project as planned. š

You're quite welcome, absolutely! Ah, yes, I understand, and that certainly makes sense. I've been having to do a few acrobatics of my own to keep the daily HIVE payouts in our ALIVE dividends at the present level, because our weekly HIVE income has dropped substantially, so I'm working to create other income streams for HIVE as quickly as I can, to compensate, and so we're not dependent on only one project for an important aspect of our daily and weekly functioning. Even with the fiat price, I need to grow a substantially larger SWAP.HIVE income on my own account, and for the We Are Alive Tribe, before I can even think about trying to acquire some VOCUP. I appreciate the perspective that you have regarding managing and growing your project.
Hehe...I'm glad that it gave you a chuckle. Thank you for the wider view on the token price, that is pretty wild to consider, and good to keep in mind, though I still need lots more SWAP.HIVE to be able to buy more than a fraction of one...lol!
Yes, I certainly understand that, and I think that you're progressing in a very sensible manner. If I have the opportunity to get a hold of some VOCUP, I will. šššāØš¤

We all have to take care of our priorities first. It's just common sense.
When you talk about the struggle you face with daily HIVE payouts, same as with accumulating a larger Swap.Hive income, we completely understand what you are talking about, as we also struggle with curation rewards that recently (with Hive price drop) became quite odd, and without bringing in our own fresh funds, it would be very hard to maintain the level we have achieved.
Luckily, when planning this project, we somewhat anticipated this possibility. Still, we can't predict or guarantee how long we can endure it. The second mitigating circumstance is that all purchases are backed by the account's HP, so if, for any reason, we were forced to stop the project, we could always repay our members the amount of Hive they invested.
And in turbulent times like these seem to be, that's a great relief to us. š

Thank you, I appreciate that! Yes, indeedy, very true, there are all sorts of things that I want to do, but some need to take priority over others for a time.
Yes, it seems to be a rather common theme now, especially with so many projects and tokens failing or being abandoned. Many previously quite dependable sources of income have disappeared, but been notably lowered, which is a bugger when it's an important component of a larger system.
That's excellent that you planned for that potential eventuality. We're in the process of creating solid backing for our ALIVE and HEARTBEAT tokens, including the HP on all community accounts, solid layer-2 community tokens by people that we know and trust, off-chain-linked crypto assets, like SWAP.BTC, SWAP.LTC, among others, inherently useful and valuable tokens like BEE, WORKERBEE, and BEED, and the last level of backing is being put into place now, redeemable gold and silver. We're getting there more each day. šššāØš¤
