What is the main difference between this new front end and others? I took a quick peek and saw that the webpage format was different but other than that what is the main purpose for this?
It doesn't seem to be the typical Tribal Dex tribe front end, so there's no new SLOTH token?

Although it's a completely new frontend it is built upon the former data. Means: it reutilizes the SLOTHBUZZ token.
@pattlebo replying to a comment is a bit tricky, the input form is still attached to the original post. took me a while to realize I need the box up top to reply to a comment down below ;-)
Its a 'whole of hive' frontend. We moved away from the typical outpost which can still be found at sloth.buzz. Our goal was always to make a Hive frontend not simply a 'tribe' site. The main purpose is to give maximum enjoyment of Hive as well as curated slothbuzz content. We still have our community token the $slothbuzz token but we want users to be able to interact with the whole of Hive. We also give access to 'all' shortform containers directly from the Hangs section, along with our minigame in the radio section. Simply post a Hang and watch your sloth pet race for the golden egg!
Yeah I always thought it was a strange format to filter out different types of content. If anything, compartmentalizing and tribalizing the communities did more harm then good because it divided and weakened our impact.
Even now, most of the "tribes" have been splintered or completely ghosted. None of my old friends are even on Hive anymore its a total bust. A lof of more popular projects seem to have imploded as well.
Yeah we were late coming to Hive so missed the general 'high' times although we've also noticed a load of users leaving along the way.
The slothbuzz homepage brings a new spin to Hive, our goal isn't to make slothbuzz everything but to show everything through slothbuzz.
Our SEO is based on your content, not redirecting traffic to our frontend, most of the other Hive sites push themselves not the actual content. We think we're how Hive 'should' have been. Focusing on highlighting everyones content, not focussing on just 'our' project.
Starting a tribe is rough on a dying blockchain. I had my hand at it with IceBreak-R but that fell apart pretty quickly.
Had we expected quick success I think we would have collapsed years ago, sloth and steady does it. All there is for it is to keep buzzing along and see where we end up!
