Vienna at Night (Eurovision Song Contest, High Security Zone)
Heute findet das Finale des Eurovision Song Contest in Wien statt. In der Wiener U-Bahn wird wieder Werbung dafür gemacht, während die Stadt die zweithöchste Gefährdungsstufe ausgerufen hat. Das Gelände um den Song Contest (Wiener Stadthalle) und der Rathausplatz (Pubic Viewing Bühne) sind weiträumig abgesperrt und gleichen mehr einer Hochsicherheitszone. Es kommt zu Straßen und Ring-Sperren, die es davor meines Wissens nach beim letzten Song Contest in Wien nicht gegeben hat.
Mehrere Länder boykottieren diesmal den Song Contest. Mich interessiert das ganze Spektakel wenig, freue mich aber, dass es Bulgarien in das Finale geschafft hat. Mit einem wenig anspruchsvollen Pop-Headbang-Song. Naja, gute Musik sieht anders aus. Dafür ist die Sängerin sympathisch.
0 Punkte könnte es dagegen diesmal für den österreichischen Beitrag von Cosmo regnen. Damit wird sichergestellt, dass wir den Song Contest nächstes Jahr nicht noch einmal austragen müssen. Smarter Move.

Today, the Eurovision Song Contest final is taking place in Vienna. Ads for the event are once again running in the Vienna subway, even as the city has declared the second-highest security alert level. The area around the Song Contest venue (Wiener Stadthalle) and City Hall Square (public viewing stage) has been cordoned off over a wide radius and resembles a high-security zone. There are road and ring road closures that, to my knowledge, weren’t in place during the last Song Contest in Vienna.
Several countries are boycotting the Song Contest this time around. I’m not particularly interested in the whole spectacle, but I’m glad Bulgaria made it to the final. With a rather unambitious pop-headbang song. Well, good music looks different. On the plus side, the singer is attractive.
On the other hand, the Austrian entry by Cosmo might could get 0 points. Ensuring that we don’t have to host the Song Contest again next year. Smart move.

Ich Boykottiere nicht, interessiert mich aber inzwischen auch nicht, also schon glaube über 20 Jahre nicht mehr wirklich.

Ich ignoriere das nicht einmal. Zum Glück hatte ich diesmal nicht in der Innenstadt zu tun (wegen der Absperrungen), hatte mich schon le. Sonntag geärgert, wegen des Marathons. Die wichtigsten Straßen in Wien einfach gesperrt. Marathons sollte man nicht in einer Stadt austragen.
nicht in der Stadt - wäre auch meine Ansicht. Aber warte auf die nächste 'Naked Bycycle Ride Demo' oder die Flaniermeile am Ring mit Rasen und Liegestühle auf der Fahrbahn (um das Klima zu retten). Der Rasen wurde damals mit Diesel LKW's hergebracht. Das waren noch Zeiten als die 'Vaselinkuh' noch Stadträtin war!
Ja, diese Klimaexzesse sind zum Glück vorbei. Sogar der IPCC hat zugegeben, dass sein Katastrophenszenario falsch war.
Ich verfolge den ESC schon seit vielen Jahren nicht mehr. Hab ihn damals zu den Zeiten von Stefan Raab/Gildo Horn und auch bei Lena mal geschaut aber sonst ist das nicht so meins.
Wir schauen regelmäßig, aber musikalisch komplett an meiner Welt vorbei. Aber lustige Unterhaltung mit den Kommentaren auf One im TV

STOPI don't much about what is going on with the ESC so I can't make any decisions. I'll look up the song later today or tomorrow and see what I think of it.
