New landmark of Hamburg "Elbphilharmonie" (Elbe Philharmonic Hall) cost 11x more than projected 😂
Der Bau des neuen Wahrzeichens von Hamburg hat sich um 7 Jahre verzögert, wurde erst 2017 statt 2010 eröffnet, und jetzt haltet euch fest, hat 11x so viel gekostet wie budgetiert. Das Design der Architekten Herzog & de Meuron spaltet ebenfalls noch heute die Gemüter, manche finden das Gebäude an der Elbe schön, andere sogar hässlich. Aber es gibt auch etwas Positives, der Zugang zur Aussichtsterrasse ist nach wie vor kostenlos, trotz Budgetkrise. Ein Besuch zahlt sich aus.

The construction of Hamburg’s new landmark was delayed by seven years, opening in 2017 instead of 2010, and—now brace yourselves—it ended up costing 11 times the original budget. The design by architects Herzog & de Meuron still divides opinion today, some find the building on the Elbe beautiful, others even ugly. But there is a silver lining: access to the observation deck remains free, despite the German budget crisis. A visit is well worth it.

Vielleicht eine Ergänzung, das es kostenlos ist mit ggf. laaaanger wartezeit. Wenn man nicht warten will kann man vorher für 3 Euro einen Termin buchen, was glaube sehr viele machen.
Hatten wir auch mal gemacht, weil sonst wären wir wohl nicht reingekommen so voll war es.
Interessant, wusste nicht, dass es auch ein kostenpflichtiges Ticket mit Timeslot gibt, bin gespannt, wie lange es noch kostenlose Tickets geben wird.
Es nennt sich dann Reservierunfsgebühr und nicht Eintritspreis und war wohl von anfang an möglich, damals noch 2 Euro.
Würde also sagen, dass wir so bleiben und die nehmen damit bestimmt auch genug ein.

Ich finde das Bauwerk mega! War vor vier Jahren mal da auf der Aussichtsplattform. Super!
Der Klang innen soll gigantisch sein.
Dann hat sich die lange Bauzeit doch ausgezahlt :)

Mega gut. Hab letztes Jahr eine exclusive Führung durch das Gebäude bekommen - Wir kamen an Stellen, wo normale Menschen so nicht hinkommen und muss schon sagen, das war schon sehr Interessant zu sehen und auch die Führung zu hören.

It's amazing to see how how things can get delayed, and how it ends up increasing the cost by so much. I think the building is nice, and I like that it remains free.
Ich finde es toll, vor allem von innen. Insb. der große Konzertsaal ist beeindruckend.
