Vor ein paar Tagen sind bis zu 60.000 Migranten, hauptsächlich Männer, in die autonome Stadt Ceuta in Nord Afrika eingedrungen.
Ceuta ist so wie Melilla eine spanische Enklave in Nord Afrika, die an Marokko grenzt.
Um die Dimension einordnen zu können, Ceuta hat regulär ungefähr 83 Tausend Einwohner. Diesen stehen nun 60 Tausend Migranten gegenüber. Das ist heftig und hat tatsächlich die Dimension einer Invasion.
Die EU versucht zu beruhigen, dass Ceuta nicht Teil von Schengen ist, aber der Hintergrund ist ein umstrittenes Urteil des Obersten Gerichtshof in Spanien, das Migranten, die über das Meer Ceuta erreichen, nicht so einfach abgeschoben werden können und ihnen ein reguläres Einwanderungsverfahren in Spanien gewährt.
Eine andere Erklärung (unbewiesene Mutmaßung) sieht die marokkanische Regierung oder sogar Israel als Auslöser für die jüngste Migrations-Krise.
Marokko würde die spanischen Enklaven gerne für sich reklamieren bzw. ist das Verhältnis mit Israel angespannt, da Spanien den Krieg im Nahen Osten nicht ausreichend unterstütze bzw. sogar Überflüge verbiete.
Jedenfalls erzeugt die Krise in Ceuta viele für die EU unangenehme Bilder, die nach einem Kontrollverlust ähnlich wie 2015 aussehen. Damals sind Hunderttausende Migranten hauptsächlich nach Deutschland, Österreich und Schweden geschleust worden.

A few days ago, up to 60,000 migrants, mainly men, invaded the autonomous city of Ceuta in North Africa.
Like Melilla, Ceuta is a Spanish enclave in North Africa that borders Morocco.
To put this into perspective, Ceuta normally has a population of about 83 thousands. These residents are now facing up to 60,000 migrants. This is a massive situation and does indeed have the scale of an invasion.
The EU is trying to reassure the public that Ceuta is not part of the Schengen Area, but the backdrop to this is a controversial ruling by Spain’s Supreme Court, which states that migrants who reach Ceuta by sea cannot be deported so easily and are entitled to a regular immigration procedure in Spain.
Another explanation (unconfirmed speculation) points to the Moroccan government or even Israel as the trigger for the recent migration crisis.
Morocco would like to claim the Spanish enclaves for itself, and relations with Israel are strained because Spain does not provide sufficient support for the war in the Middle East and even prohibits overflights.
In any case, the crisis in Ceuta is producing many images that are uncomfortable for the EU, as they suggest a loss of control similar to what happened in 2015. At that time, hundreds of thousands of migrants were illegally transported mainly to Germany, Austria, and Sweden.

I saw that, but I saw a few interviews, and I kind of blame Spain for it. When their foreign affairs guy is told, why don't you stop people from crossing, they had no response. In any case, its so far off from Spain also, so I am wondering why they have land there.
Finde es ganz Interessant jetzt ein paar Tage später das ganze anzuschauen. Die Leute wurden in LKW an die Grenze gefahren und von Polizisten Richtung Grenze geschickt, was in einem Land wie Marokko ohne Wissen des Staates nicht klappt. Auch die Gerüchte, basierend auf einem Gerichtsurteil in Spanien, das anders lautet, aber kaum einer der Flüchtlinge kann Spanisch und das verifizieren, hatte man dieses Ereignis.
Ist eine perfekte Strategie um die Spanische Regierung davon abzubringen die Kontakte nach Algerien zu vertiefen.
