Glimpses
I was the expanse of the ocean
Immense and unfathomable...
I had kept myself calm...
So that I would throw up my own water...
Self-proclaimed unconquerable...
I never noticed
The first ray of dawn...
She would come sitting on a bright star
Shy and lazy...
Sometimes she would blink, sometimes she would hesitate...
Sometimes she would get restless, sometimes she would smell
Inexplicably happy...
There would be wet dewdrops in her eyes
On seeing her, the lilies would bloom...
She would fall without touching me on my every insistence
Sweeping away my darkness...
But now that I have recognized her
These moments of waiting seem endless
When she will stay for a few moments on my waves...
In those moments of glimpses
I travel from the restless to the peaceful...
That first ray scattered from the sun
Leaves the mark of vermilion on my salty heart
Who knows what it says through its unspoken eyes...
