My Prague & Vienna Tour - Part 3: Powder Gate, Národní Street and Legion Bridge, Prague, Czechia [ENG-TUR]

As I mentioned in my previous travel posts, I don't like the vacation format that goes between hotel, sea and foods. I want to discover new places at homeland or abroad as much as possible. Before the pandemic, I traveled abroad every year. However, the pandemic caused millions of people, including me, to change their travel plans for at least 2 years. After the pandemic, it was time for me to start traveling abroad. Last year, I did this by going to Thessaloniki, Greece. I made some changes for the third choice of my international travel in this year. I visited the capitals of Czechia and Austria. I will write about Powder Tower-Gate, Národní Street and Legion Bridge in the third part of my Prague & Vienna travel posts series.

Önceki seyahat yazılarımda da belirttiğim gibi otel, deniz ve yemek arasında geçip giden tatil anlayışını sevmiyorum. Yurtiçinde veya yurtdışında mümkün olduğunca yeni yerler keşfetmek istiyorum. Pandemiden önce her yıl yurtdışı seyahatleri yapan biriydim. Fakat, pandemi benim gibi dünyada milyonlarca insanların seyahat planlarını en az 2 yıl değiştirmesine sebep oldu. Pandemiden sonra benim için artık yurtdışı seyahatlerime başlamanın zamanı gelmişti. Geçen sene bunu Yunanistan’ın Selanik şehrine giderek gerçekleştirdim. Bu yılki üçüncü yurtdışı seyahat tercihimde biraz değişiklik yaptım. Çekya ve Avusturya’nın başkentlerini ziyaret ettim. Prag & Viyana gezi yazısı serimin üçüncü bölümünde sizlere, Barut Kulesi-Kapısı, Národní Caddesi and Lejyon Köprüsü’nden bahsedeceğim.

Since I was very tired the day before, I wanted to go to the hotel early and rest because I was planning a Prague walk that would include the old and new city for the next day. I left the hotel around nine in the morning. First, I wanted to have a good breakfast, but since it was the weekend and early in the morning, I had a hard time finding an open place. After having my breakfast on this beautiful street, I started walking along the street towards the east of Prague.

Bir önceki gün çok yorulduğum için erkenden otele gidip dinlenmek istemiştim çünkü ertesi gün, eski ve yeni şehri kapsayacak bir Prag gezisi planlıyordum. Sabah saat dokuz gibi otelden ayrıldım. Öncelikle sağlam bir kahvaltı yapmak istedim, ama haftasonu ve sabahın erken saatleri olması nedeniyle açık bir yer bulmakta zorlandım. Bu güzel caddede kahvaltımı yaptıktan sonra caddeden Prag’ın doğusuna doğru yürümeye başladım.

At the end of this street there is the Powder Tower and Gate. There is a road for vehicles underneath. Bad luck for me, I couldn't take the certain photo of the tower because it was under renovation. There is also a stop here for city tour buses. Japanese tourists were here early in the morning.

Bu caddenin hemen sonunda Barut Kulesi ve Kapısı bulunmaktadır. Altından araçlar için yol geçmektedir. Benim şansıma, kule tadilatta olduğu için gerçek fotoğrafını çekemedim. Burada da şehir turu yapan otobüslerin kalktığı durak var. Sabah sabah Japon turistler buradaydılar.

Then, I walked to the Republic Square, which is very close to Powder Gate. I took a few photos here and started walking towards the Prague Old Town Square. Since it was morning, the weather was hot in the sunny areas and cool in the shade.

Daha sonra buraya çok yakın bir mesafede olan Cumhuriyet Meydanı’na yürüdüm. Burda da birkaç tane fotoğraf çektim ve Prag Eski Şehir Meydanı’na doğru yürümeye başladım. Sabah saatleri olduğu için güneş olan yerlerde hava sıcak, gölgelerde ise serindi.

This time I entered Prague Old Town Square from the Týn Church (Church of Our Lady Before Týn). The square was not very crowded, I was able to take photos comfortably. The sun was slowly rising and warming up the square.

Prag Eski Şehir Meydanı’na bu kez Týn Kilisesi (Church of Our Lady Before Týn) tarafından girdim. Meydan çok kalabalık değildi, rahat rahat fotoğraf çekebildim. Güneş yavaş yavaş yükselmeye ve meydanı ısıtmaya başlamıştı.

After spending 15-20 minutes in Prague Old Town Square, I continued my walk towards the back streets of the Old Town. I remembered these places because I passed through them yesterday. I came across with the Man Hanging Out statue again : ) I quickly passed through these places and arrived at Národní Street about which I told you yesterday.
Prag Eski Şehir Meydanı’nda 15-20 dakika zaman geçirdikten sonra Eski Şehir’in arka sokaklarına doğru yürüyüşüme devam ettim. Buraları hatırlıyordum çünkü dün buralardan geçmiştim. Asılı Kalmış Adam heykeli tekrar karşıma çıkmıştı : ) Buralardan hızlıca geçerek size dün bahsettiğim Národní Caddesi’ne varmıştım.

I walked down Národní Street. You can find various shops and restaurants on this street. I even saw a Turkish restaurant. There are many beautiful buildings on this street where the trams pass. I think that the most beautiful building on this street was the National Theatre at the end of the street. The end of the street leads to the Legion Bridge.

Národní Caddesi’den aşağı doğru yürüdüm. Bu cadde üzerinde çeşitli dükkan ve restorant bulmak mümkün. Hatta bir tane Türk restorantı da gördüm. Tramvayların geçtiği bu caddede çok güzel binalar bulunmaktadır. Bana göre bu caddedeki en güzel bina, caddenin sonunda olan Ulusal Tiyatro binasıydı. Caddenin bitişinden Lejyon Köprüsü’ne geçiliyor.

Národní Street

The Legion Bridge is one of the bridges built over the Vltava River in Prague. Nostalgic trams pass over the bridge. You can see Prague Castle and Charles Bridge from the bridge. I took a few photos from the viewing points on the bridge.

Lejyon Köprüsü, Prag’ta Vltava Nehri üzerine kurulmuş köprülerden biridir. Köprünün üzerinden noltaljik tramvaylar geçiyor. Köprüden Prag Kalesi’ni ve Karl Köprüsü’nü görebiliyorsunuz. Köprü üzerinde seyir noktalarından birkaç fotoğraf çektim.

I walked across the Legion Bridge. My goal was to go to Prague Castle. After walking a little further from the end of the bridge, I came across a forested area that resembled a park. I crossed to the side with the trees and started walking upwards through the park. This was like a forest park where Czechs come on weekends to relax, get some fresh air and sunbathe. A monument in the park caught my attention. This monument was a monument built in memory of the victims of Communism. As you know, the countries of Central Europe were once formed the Soviet Union. Now I can say that there is a prejudice against Communism in these countries.

Lejyon Köprüsü’nden yürüyerek karşıya geçtim. Hedefim Prag Kalesi’ne gitmekti. Köprünün bitişinden biraz daha yürüdükten sonra karşıma park niteliğinden ormanlık bir alan çıktı. Ağaçların olduğu tarafa geçtim ve parkın içinden yukarıya doğru yürümeye başladım. Burası Çeklerin hafta sonları kafa dinlemek, temiz hava almak ve güneşlenmek için geldikleri bir orman parkı gibiydi. Parkın içindeki bir anıt dikkatimi çekti. Bu anıt, Komünizm kurbanlarına adına yapılan bir anıtmış. Biliyorsunuz ki, Orta Avrupa ülkeleri de bir zamanlar Sovyetler Birliği’ni oluşturan ülkelerdi. Şimdi bu ülkelerde Komünizme karşı bir ön yargı var diyebilirim.
