Hello @holos-lotus community, with this post I continue the series. I don't always have something important to say.
Most days pass without memorable scenes, without sentences worth underlining, and without clear conclusions. Even so, something remains. Not as a lesson or a revelation, but as a thin layer over everyday life.
That is where the idea for this series comes from: Between what happens and what I don't say.
It is not an attempt to explain myself or find meaning in everything. It is a way of observing what usually stays outside the conversation: small gestures, everyday habits, moments that are never announced but are still there.
I write from everyday life, from what can be observed. It does not need to be profound to be real. I am not trying to reach conclusions or leave life lessons behind. I simply record things, like someone noting the weather without judging it.
So there will be no answers and no promises.
Only small scenes, ordinary days, and a voice that observes.
Between what happens and what I don't say #29
"Don't worry, I'll take care of it."

Sometimes the most polite sentence is also the one that hides our exhaustion the best.
A few days ago, I was convinced that I would finally have a quiet afternoon.
I had finished the most urgent tasks at work.
I had already taken care of a few things at home.
I had even checked the power outage schedule to figure out when I would have electricity and when it would be best to charge my phone and laptop.
Living in Cuba, you eventually learn to organize your life around things like that.
Not because you want to.
Because you have no other choice.
Just when I thought I could finally spend some time for myself, my phone rang.
It was someone from work.
They needed to make changes to something that was already finished.
A document had to be reviewed, several details corrected, and everything sent before the end of the day.
While listening, I started doing mental calculations.
How much time was left before the next blackout?
Would my battery last?
Would the internet connection hold long enough?
I answered almost automatically.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of it."
The other person thanked me.
The call ended.
For a few seconds, I simply stared at the dark screen of my phone.
I wasn't upset because they had asked me to work.
That is part of having a job.
What truly weighed on me was something else.
Every last-minute change meant reorganizing a day that I had already reorganized several times.
Moving one task meant moving another.
And then another.
Until the entire day had to be rearranged again.
Sometimes I think the real exhaustion doesn't come from work itself.
It comes from constantly adapting our plans to circumstances we can't control.
Today it's a blackout.
Tomorrow it's an internet connection that suddenly disappears.
The next day it's an unexpected change of plans.
Little by little, we end up living as if we were always improvising.
While preparing the document again, I noticed myself doing something that has also become routine.
Looking at the battery icon more often than at the document itself.
Because here, finishing a task doesn't depend only on your effort.
It also depends on the electricity staying on.
On the internet deciding to cooperate.
And on having enough time before everything stops once again.
When I finally sent the file, I felt relieved.
Not because the task had been especially difficult.
But because I had managed to finish before the power went out.
And I realized that this feeling says a lot about the place where I live.
Celebrating that I finished something before a blackout sounds like a very small victory.
But lately, those small victories are what keep many days together.
Afterward, I made myself a cup of coffee.
I sat quietly for a few minutes.
And I thought about how easy it is to say:
"Don't worry, I'll take care of it."
Just a few simple words.
What nobody hears is everything hidden behind them.
The plans that have to change.
The rest that has to wait.
The energy that was already running low.
And the constant effort to make sure none of that can be heard in our voice.
We can't always choose our circumstances.
But we can recognize that sometimes the hardest part isn't doing the work.
It's reorganizing our lives over and over again without letting everything fall apart.
Some days, exhaustion doesn't come from working more. It comes from having to rebuild the same day over and over again.
With this, the twenty-ninth chapter comes to an end and I say goodbye. Tell me in the comments what you thought, and if you would like to support it, it will be greatly appreciated.
