Social Media Challenge - Fighting Against Elf Leader - Lord Thanalor

Good day to all, hope that all of you are having a good week so far and having many memorable and interesting battles in Splinterlands. In today's sharing, I will be sharing on an interesting match that I had played within the week. Today's match is a challenging one where we go up against a very strong foe which most of the time I will struggle against because this card has great stats and hits real hard.

Today's Foe

Lord Thanalor

This card is crazy. Fast, thick and hits for 3 magic damage. And today I am fighting aginst one that is at level 2, which makes it worse because it even has scavenge, collecting trophies and adding to its health upon every fallen card on the battlefield. With a barely simple collection, do I even stand a chance of winning against it?

Selection Analysis
In today's matchup, we have life, death, earth and dragon splinter available for selection. In order to use another hard hitting card that exist in dragon splinter, I have decided to use dragon splinter with death as partner splinter.

To lead the lineup, I call upon Kavor Skarn, whom is a dragon splinter archon and giving +1 speed to Drakoshan. The ruleset itself based on my assessment will not have too big an impact and with that I have chose to go with Halfling Refugee to lead the team as a tank. Next is Thraghun which is very good from 2nd position due to cripple, reach and it being able to do a double attack using melee and range. Following will be the dragon card Night Reaper which strikes for 3 damage and aims at flying cards with priority. To soak up damage for the team, next in the lineup will the Helheim Demon with the taunt and by itself also having flying ability to improve its survivability. Following Helheim Demon is Arachne Weaver which possess the awesome ability of corrupted healing which really can turn match to our favour as long as heal can happen on time. Last in the lineup is Shadowfey Sheik which is able life leech to keep itself afloat with more health.

Opponent used Aurelia, earth archon which gives +1 health to lineup. Tank that is chosen by my opponent is the Endless Ape which has scavenge and by itself already have very good stats. Next card is Decrepit Windseer which will boost another elf upon falling. Next card on opponent lineup is Giam Root which gives additional health to opponent lineup. And finally it comes to Lord Thanalor that will be the tough one to go against with good stats and good attack. To wrap up the lineup, a card with thorns is selected that can still function and front line with close range, Quilliun Legionary.

Opponent had a great deal of big cards with additional health and 2 cards with scavenge which can boost up more health with each fallen card. I have corrupted healing and my own set of cards. Who will prevail? Let's find out from the round by round synopsis.

Round by Round Synopsis

Round 1 - While there were no casualties for this round, we can see the damage is really flying high across both sides with Endless Ape down to 1 health and dangerously hanging by a thread.

Round 2 - More action this round with a number of cards falling with Night Reaper taking out Endless Ape, Giam Root taking out Helheim Demon and Decrepit Windseer falling to the frontline assault but it did boost Lord Thanalor.

Round 3 - Another round of holding on with exchanging of damage and thinning down the health of cards on the frontline.

Round 4 - Lord Thanalor cleard my Halfling Refugee and it was just continuous exchange with Giam Root also falling.

Round 5 - A blast from Lord Thanalor sent Thraghun off the lineup and it is now looking increasingly worrying if I can outlast my opponent.

Round 6-9 - It was a continuous exchange between both side with corrupted healing playing a key role in sustaining my side where we took out Lord Thanalor in round 7 and finally secured the win in round 9.

Battle Summary
Love the excitement in this match where initially it looked ok on my end till midway when Lord Thanalor just hammer away my cards one by one but thankfully with corrupted healing, I was able to restore myself back and reverse the match to win it. With that being said, I should monitor the price of Lord Thanalor and perhaps add a copy of it to my collection since I love playing elf lineup.
