Community Engagement Challenge: Survival Mode - A Deeper Look Towards Success

Prelude
Hi all, good day to all of you. It's time again for Community Engagement Challenge. Today's challenge topic is still on the new survival mode that had been released during the last big update. Last week we look at survival mode and how to set it up as a whole for us to start playing with it and also understand the various cool down that is associated with the survival mode which will even affect even cards we use during normal ranked battle. Today will we look at some tips and trick to be more viable in Survival Mode and let's get right on to it.

Tips and Tricks
Many of us probably started diving into survival mode and trying to see how to do better in it. Some manage to go all the way and get good result while others ended up having loads of cards going on cool down and had to wait for long period before cards can be available for use.

Collection
The true key to survival mode is the size of your collection + whatever you've rented. The tough thing about survival mode is that you need to have enough cards to last you through. One high level card unless able to survive the whole match without getting killed is not as good as many copies of the same card that can allow you to go in again and again.

The most important thing of a lineup is the summoner. Remember this, if you lose the match, the summoner goes into cooldown together with the whole team. If you have additional summoners that you've obtained during the Chaos Legion Soulbound reward cards era, they will come in handy now.

Not only are they good for this mode, they able to let you reach deeper and unlock the use of Gladius cards which most of us have quite a fair bit due to us accumulating them from brawls. And this is why when I looked at the market, I didn't see many available in the market already, so if you are still trying to venture into survival mode, they are good additions for you to pick up.

Something to remember that only cards rented for a season can be used in Survival Mode, cards from daily rental are not able to be used.

Meta Understanding
While many of us might still be trying to figure out how to play certain rulesets, what better way than to study and analzye how the top players do so and see the cards that they use. If you are belonging to a community, chat and discuss with your fellow community or guild members to know what cards are good for which rule set. From there, you will be able to know what kind of cards you should be getting or renting.

Sustainability is another key aspect
Remember I used to mention in rank battle, there are times we use high risk high reward strategies in our gameplay or even things like martyr to boost up cards, my take will be to avoid doing so in survival mode because they will just deplete your card pool and you have to get a fresh set of cards for the next battle which personally does not make sense.

And with sustainability in mind, being a "coward" here could be your best bet in this ruleset. Cards that give you healing (heal, tank heal, triage) will help keep bulk of your cards alive. Shield and protect will be your next best friends and not forgetting void that helps with reducing damage received on your lineup. Resurrection is even better as you might even get a chance to revive your fallen cards before the match end and you can use them again next match. Next will be scavenge then help to give additional health whenever a card from either side dies.

Ruleset Specific Cards
There are some cards that are typically used for specific rulesets such as Immunity for Noxious Fumes or Flying cards that are used during earthquake. Good to stock them up since these are rather common rulesets. Cards like Regal Peryton for flying and Forgotten One for immunity will be great additions are likely to thrive in those rulesets.

Fiends and Chicken
These are sacrificial cards but I do think they are actually important so that other cards stand a higher chance of not getting killed with them sacrificing. Not the most critical but certainly good to keep copies of these to ensure your other cards are safe.

Alternatively, at 1 cost higher, Chaos Agent will be a good one to consider as well for the padding role.

Learn you Level 1 cards well
Many of us are so used to higher level cards and forget how to use the level 1 cards which we have multiple copies of. So to excel when you are a little drained of your higher level cards, that is where bulk of it will be L1 cards and knowing them well will bring you a long way.

Wrap Up
There are so many variants, cards, lineups that one can put up in this ruleset. However, no matter how, the collection size matters. If you have the volume and with a good usage of strategies to put up lineup for various strategies, you will excel in this mode. This mode gives a different mode of pursuit in terms of gameplay for people to get more copies of cards than scaling them vertically. It will bring about a new utility and market movement for cards which is much needed for the game. Have a good time playing.
