Battle Sharing: Overpowering Levelled Archon Lineup Packed with Salt Wraith Pirate In Shapeshift Happens Ruleset

Good day to all, how are you doing this lovely weekend and it is time for another battle sharing where I go up against tough cards, tough matches or share how certain abilities give strong advantage to win. Today, I will be sharing a match where odds are pit against me where opponent utilize bloodline tribute in shapeshift happens ruleset match and I somehow didn't have one with me.

Shapeshift Happens

Shapeshift Happens allows any unit to benefit from any friendly bloodline buff.

This match allows bloodline effects to benefit every card and essentially if you use a bloodline archon, you can effectively have your whole card list available for the available splinters. So any form of bloodline tribute will have maximum effect.

But is there a chance to overcome this crazy advantage?

And let's go right into today's battle sharing.

Ruleset: Up Close and Personal, Shapeshift Happens
Mana Limit: 90

Selection Analysis
In today's matchup, there were 3 splinter choices available to us for this match, namely water, life and death. With the super high mana available, it created a dilemma for me on what to field but I just decided to go with Water by gut feel and to give my cards enrage to let them hit harder onto my opponent.

To lead the lineup it will be Gorgug The Endless, orc bloodline archon from water splinter. And since it is shapeshift happens ruleset, I can pick any water, life and death splinter to form my lineup. First card will be Commander Slade which is an awesome tank that really have all the attributes of a good tank and even debuff's other cards when it strikes. And because it is up close and personal, every card selected must be a melee card and so, I chose a couple of double attack type cards. First will be Thraghun which has range and melee and at the same time have reach, so it can hide behind Commander Slade. Next will be Captain Fellblade whom possess magic and melee attack and also sneak to clear cards from the rear. And the last of the double attack type card is Olivia of The Brook with opportunity and magic and melee attack. Unfortunately my archon is level one, otherwise, I would be able to have mimic on her which will make her scarier. Next is Foundation Jackpot card, Aimee Whisperwind with the opportunity. Last but not least will be New Beluroc Aegis with the taunt to divert away some attack to keep the rest of the lineup alive longer.

Opponent apparently did not use bloodline archon but opted to use a level 7 Reklah. To lead my opponent's lineup, opponent used Saltwraithe Pirate which contain a bloodline tribute. The card that follows is Nim Guard Captain from foundation set with Void. And next card that follows is Grim Bonewhip which has rust and haste on top of reach. Following is Vengeful Monk and Broken Earth Thug, both with opportunity and finally to close off the rear, it will be Ironwing Juggnaut with the charge.

Opponent had a well levelled up lineup with a card that has bloodline tribute, I just use what I have and hope for the best.

Levelled up and with bloodline tribute versus just bloodline archon, what will work better?

Round by Round Synopsis

Round 1 - I didn't expect the rampage to be so massive as I saw my New Aegis Beluroc just get smashed within a round. And to make things worse, I triggered my opponent's bloodline tribute and every card on my opponent side gets a nice boost.

Round 2 - Captain Fellblade due to the lowered health become a target for the opportunity cards and fell almost immediately. And when it was my turn, we made sure we take something back and took down Ironwing Juggernaut.

Round 3 - Commander Slade open the round by smashing Nim Guard Captain while Olivia got taken out by my opponent's opportunity cards. But with this round, the tide is now on my side with a much stronger surviving lineup.

Round 4 - Not sure how my opponent has such good dodging skills, I missed a few attacks but successfully take out Vengeful Monk.

Round 5-6, Commander Slade fell in round 5 but the remaining squad took up the mantle and smashed the last card on my opponent lineup and claim the victory.

Battle Summary
Opponent did have a very strong lineup, strong archon and the bloodline tribute really upgraded my opponent's lineup big time giving them a big advantage. However, for me, I planned a much stronger lineup with more mana used in hope to do some good damage to my opponent which I did and together with the double attack cards, they really added more damage output to make things easier for me.
