Adapting to Modern: Getting to Know Your Rebellion Core Set Part 26
Prelude
Greeting to all, happy midweek and welcome back to another new post on Adapting to Modern where I look at how I crossed over from playing in Wild Battles till today focusing and getting more cards on Modern Battles, sharing with the community the struggles, the strategies and things I do to move towards playing in Modern. We barely had a quarter of the season started and I do see stronger opponents now especially when players are also gathering more foundation cards through the frontier format. Exciting times for Splinterlands where we see more ways to obtain cards that can be brought onto the battlefield. Maybe when the series of Rebellion core cards completed, we can start analyzing on the foundation cards.
Rebellion Core Set Cards
Similar to the previous post for this series, we will begin discussing card from the Rebellion Core Set. Using a similar method when I reviewed the Soul Bound reward cards, I will be discussing about the growth of the cards and will give a simple review to whether or not investing into them will level up your game play or not. And let's continue our review and look at 2 rare cards from death splinter in today's review.
Daigendark Hunter
The first death splinter rare ard that we will reviewing today will be Daigendark Hunter. This was one of the few cards that caught my eye when the Rebellion set launched. 3 range attack from the rear, how many rounds can you handle this amount of punishment and it is just level 1. There is further scaling seen on attack, health and speed as this card levels up. At level 4, this card can even further help out on magic damage reduction. A really decent card for the lineup if you have one as this can really do good damage and it is not common to see such heavy attack sneak card. At max this card goes up to 7 health and prevents itself from being too squishy. A worthy card to consider pushing up to much higher levels if you can.
Wailing Wraith
A card that thrives at the 2nd position due to the reach and being able to get an additional attack due to armoured strike. Not only that, when this card levels up, there is even more that it can offer such as affliction which is fantastic in gameplay against those cards that keep healing again and again, which will be a pain to handle. On top of affliction it also get rust and an even higher level which also aids in disabling opponents. Looks like a unique that undo all the defence of opponent. For me, one thing that this card really need is to boost its armour so that you can get more value of our armoured strike. Otherwise, a little wasted that it is only 1 armour for most levels and at max 2 amour which might not give enough value. But this card does give loads of debuff at higher levels to opponent which is good but will need to spend a little to get there. A decent card but needs to be at high level to be able to feature in a lineup. At base, probably you will pick others instead of this card.
Assessment
2 rare cards that are being reviewed today of which both have their own character. One is a heavy duty striker that hits really hard for a range sneak attack card while the other is a debuff card that prevents healing and removes armour from opponent. Good cards to be added to collection for their purpose and utility though Wailing Wraith will need more effort to level it up.
Rating wise, Daigendark Hunter would be getting a rating of 4/5 from me. No real downside other than being a little squishy at lower levels but the silence makes up for it which is fantastic for reducing magic attacks from opponents. For Wailing Wraith, this card needs synergy especially on getting more out of the armoured strike and will only get a 3.2/5 from me which was made up by the good abilities it will carry at higher levels which is good from unlocking the tough abilities that opponent can put up, preventing heal and reducing their armour.
My recommendation will be to get Daigendark Hunter to at least level 4 for the silence and Wailing Wraith to at least level 4 as well for affliction which is more key than rust.
Wrap Up
Rebellion do really have good cards that are available and with Conclave Arcana in the midst of it all, synergies built amongst them will yield alot of advantage in the battlefield. The modern gameplay is evolving constantly with new ways to play considering the bloodline combinations. I like how things are moving through on the set releases and certainly hope to be able to learn more about the cards and better my gameplay on the battlefield.
Let's continue to grow and find path in modern as we journey on playing Splinterlands.
See you next time!
