Adapting to Modern: Getting to Know Your Rebellion Core Set Part 25

Prelude
Greeting to all, happy midweek and welcome back to another new post on Adapting to Modern where I look at how I crossed over from playing in Wild Battles till today focusing and getting more cards on Modern Battles, sharing with the community the struggles, the strategies and things I do to move towards playing in Modern. We are coming to an end of another season and I do find my opponents getting stronger recently so definitely some form of upgrade or getting new cards that can bring good synergy in modern will be key to more victories.

Rebellion Core Set Cards

Similar to the previous post for this series, we will begin discussing card from the Rebellion Core Set. Using a similar method when I reviewed the Soul Bound reward cards, I will be discussing about the growth of the cards and will give a simple review to whether or not investing into them will level up your game play or not. And let's continue our review and look at another 2 common cards from death splinter in today's review.

New Sskah Drudge

The first death splinter common card that we will reviewing today will be New Sskah Drudge. First glance at this card is, why is this card 5 mana. If it is at 4 mana, this card would be really awesome. In terms of stats, this card really rather decent and with it being true shot, limiting it to a max of 3 damage is the right thing to do for a mana of this mana cost. I like it when it gains affliction when it hits level 6. Affliction is something that really shut down all the healing in an opponent lineup and this will do great. Decent card but definitely other strong cards might put this down the pecking order.

Fenmoor Haunt

This is something I like and personally own a copy of it though I should seriously look into upgrading this card to improve its survivability. But nevertheless, this is a good card to include for little league since it builds onto the whole array of small cards of death splinter that I like to have whenever I play little league. Sneak is great but because of the low health, probably not put this card at last position, can consider 2nd last or in the middle to let its 2 attack do good. This card is interesting whether or not to max. Because at max, there is a reduction in attack but gain scavenge while at levevl 9, it is at 3 melee damage. Tough choice but I would likely go for higher damage since at higher levels, attacks tend to be higher and not much change for scavenge.

Assessment
2 common cards that are being reviewed today of both are also on the lower mana spectrum with one being able to fit little league and the other not able to. Both are very nice cards to own and will definitely bring additional options to your collection to fitting the right ruleset. Not the strongest cards but definitely able to be put on the battle field and make an impact. Both also possess good abilities that can overturn matches when put in with the right synergy.

Rating wise, New Sskah Drudge would be getting a rating of 3/5 from me. As I've mentioned earlier, the biggest pity for this card is the mana cost then went 1 above the little league limit. A relatively decent card that can unlock your opponent's defence especially those that put high dodge cards that disrupt your attack and caused them to miss. For Fenmoor Haunt, this card will also get a rating of 3.5/5. Ability and usability wise, definitely better than New Sskah Drudge but the killer will be low health and ease of being killed. Attack wise I like especially on little league, this will be one of the bigger hitters which is really good to chew away cards from the back of opponent lineup.

My recommendation will be to get New Sskash Drudge to at least level 6 for the affliction and Level 5 as well for Fenmoor Haunt as it will gain void which is important to fend off against those magic zappers that hit real hard and before you can do any damage, this card already fall.

Wrap Up
Rebellion do really have good cards that are available and with Conclave Arcana in the midst of it all, synergies built amongst them will yield alot of advantage in the battlefield. The modern gameplay is evolving constantly with new ways to play considering the bloodline combinations. I like how things are moving through on the set releases and certainly hope to be able to learn more about the cards and better my gameplay on the battlefield.

Let's continue to grow and find path in modern as we journey on playing Splinterlands.
