Hello great friends, welcome to my blog.

For the sake of this prompt, I would only tell you all about that one app that has saved me and made my life way easier.
Some years back, that should be 2022 when we had cash crunch in my country, cash was really scarce that you would have to make bank transfers or use your card to buy anything you wish to buy. It was really a hard time for us here in Nigeria.

I remember before then, my friend told me about OPay which is actually a fintech company that let people send and receive money and equally make payment using their mobile phones. I never really used to like things like that, I felt it was another form of scam where people’s money would one day be taken, naïve me sha, lol.

So even when I was told I never thought of getting such an app after all I have my bank and my card. So something happened during that cash crunch, my parents sent me money to buy foodstuffs and make food.

So I went to a mini shopping market, got the things I needed and made the transfer, it was clearly successful and I was debited but the woman did not receive any alert, she even checked her bank app but it was not there.

I was so frustrated at point because she would not give out the foodstuffs till she is credited. The funny part was that I didn’t know how to explain to my parents when they return, I never had any spare money and my siblings were all so hungry at home. Thank God I had 500 naira at home and I used it to make noodles for them.

I went back there in the evening and she checked but still did not see it, it was getting very annoying and my parents came back and thank God they understood. The lady finally saw the money after three days.

Another incident happened, my dad transferred money for my school fees to my account but I never received it, it took like seven days and nothing happened. I had to go to the bank, the long queue and everything which made me stayed from morning till 3pm unattended to.

Finally I met my bank’s customer care and complained to them, I was told that the money would be reversed in 7days. Seven days passed nothing happened and that was how the money went just like that.

I finally obliged to get the Opay app in my phone and since then, it has been very easy, timely response to complaint, good network, very accessible and I cannot even remember the last time I went to queue up in any bank.
OPay is that app for me.

Thank you all for reading.

You are truly right @utibeabasi . “O Pay” helped many people out during the cashless Lagos. Although I was using Palm-Pay then.

These Apps were Life savers then.

Thanks for sharing.

There are great life savers, and it still amazes me how a Fintech company like Opay and Palmpay understand customer care and timely responses alongside good network compared to most of our banks. It's well. Thank you very much for stopping by.
