A Simple Christmas Wish

Hell great friends, season greetings to you all.

The whole day, I kept reflecting on the week’s prompt and I never really had anything specific to make demands but I have come to realize something, I realized how much I have grown this year.

Before, I would always have a long compiled list of the things I wanted for Christmas but as I grew older my list gradually became shorter and shorter and that is because I now fully understand the essence of celebrating Christmas.

I know a lot of people see Christmas as a season for giving and receiving gifts, partying and all of that and that is absolutely true but the fun in it is having people around, I have actually come to realize that the joy of Christmas is people and without people it would all be so dry and boring.

All I would wish to have this Christmas is to be with my family, nothing more, nothing less. But just to be in a home where I get to meet my mum, dad, my siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents all in one place and there we could share some fun moment together, to me, this is worth more than thousands of unwrapped gifts and there are really priceless.

We would cook, eat , tell fun stories and gist about a lot of things, tease one another, laugh over some things and just be around with happy people, I am sure my grandma would always have some scary and funny folktales for her grandchildren.

Yeah, that is Christmas for me, not luxuries, not perfection, not partying but Christmas is more of bonding, a period where we rest from all the work we have been doing from January till now and celebrate the moment with our families.

That is how far I have grown to understand life, what matters to me now is the time I get to spend with my loved ones and not on all other things, I would appreciate them if they come but that time well spent together is precious and worth more.
