LOH °290: Peace of mind is a safe place

Hello, my dearest women's community, I hope you are all well. It's wonderful to be active in the community again, and what better way to start than with a post of reflection and introspection? I really like the question about the safe place; it makes us think a lot about what we consider safe or not in our lives. I've read most of the posts that answer this question, and something that has caught my attention is that they are different points of view—very complex, yet insightful. It's nice to see this diversity of opinions, so here's mine.

Hola, queridísima comunidad de mujeres, espero que se encuentren bien. Es bastante grato para mí volver a estar activa dentro de la comunidad y, bueno, nada mejor que una publicación de reflexión e introspección. Me gusta mucho la preguntasobre el lugar seguro; esto nos hace reflexionar mucho sobre lo que consideramos seguro o no en nuestras vidas. He leído la mayoría de las publicaciones que responden a esta pregunta y algo que me ha llamado la atención es que son diferentes puntos de vista, muy complejos pero asertivos. Es agradable ver esta diversificación de opiniones, así que aquí va la mía.

As such, I don't really have a safe place; most of the time I'm busy working and studying. I've found refuge in music; in my mind, sunsets have been moments of disconnection from the world and emotional connection. My best moments in safe places are in the mornings, when I leave for work or university and watch the sunrise while the wind caresses my face and I listen to music. That's where my best reflections arise.

Cómo tal, no tengo especialmente un lugar seguro, la mayor parte del tiempo me mantengo ocupada trabajando y estudiando. He encontrado un refugio en la música; en mi mente, los atardeceres han sido momentos de desconexión del mundo y conexión emocional. Mis mejores momentos en lugares seguros son por las mañanas, cuando salgo hacia el trabajo o la universidad, y veo el amanecer mientras el viento me acaricia el rostro y escucho música. Es ahí donde surgen mis mejores reflexiones.

I believe that no matter where we are, if our mind isn't calm and at peace, we won't feel safe anywhere, no matter how peaceful the surroundings may be. For me, almost any place is good for reflection and tranquility, especially with music playing. It's in those moments that I have the best opportunities to think and improve myself. I truly believe that's what security is all about: the constant evolution we experience as people, accepting that we aren't perfect, that we make mistakes, and that we can improve every day. Although it sounds easy and a bit cliché, this kind of thinking has helped me a lot in the mornings, as everything is calmer and the sky seems to understand me.

Creo que no importa el lugar donde nos encontremos; si nuestra mente no está tranquila y en paz, no nos sentiremos seguros en ningún sitio, por mucha paz que pueda irradiar el entorno. Para mí, casi cualquier lugar es bueno para reflexionar y estar tranquilo, y más si es con música. Es en esos momentos donde tengo las mejores oportunidades para pensar y mejorarme a mí misma. Justamente creo que de eso se trata la seguridad: de la constante evolución que experimentamos como personas, aceptando que no somos perfectos, que cometemos errores y que podemos mejorar día a día. Aunque suene fácil y un poco cliché, este tipo de pensamiento me ha ayudado mucho en las mañanas, ya que todo es más tranquilo y el cielo me comprende.

I think the noise of the city and the outside world is fleeting when the mind is focused. Swimming pulls us out of that trance, and it's happened to me on occasion, but even more so with music, since for me, it's food for the soul. I've experienced countless moments with it, both good and bad, and it also teaches me to reflect and grow. As a musician, one has a rather arduous and long path, which involves overcoming one's own ego, evolving spiritually, reaching catharsis, among many other things. It helps a lot to feel secure in this crazy world.

Pienso que El ruido de la ciudad y lo externo es efímero cuando la mente está concentrada. Nadar nos saca de ese trance, y me ha sucedido en ocasiones, pero más aún con la música, ya que para mí, es el alimento del alma, con ella he pasado muchísimos momentos, tanto buenos como malos, y también me enseña a reflexionar y crecer. Como músico, uno tiene un camino bastante arduo y largo, que implica vencer tu propio ego, evolucionar espiritualmente, llegar a la catarsis, entre muchas otras cosas. Ayuda bastante a sentirse seguro en este mundo tan loco.

Answering the second question, I wouldn't hesitate: I'd love to trade lives with the Scottish singer Enya. I've been a huge fan of all her music and recordings for as long as I can remember, and her lifestyle is something I aspire to at some point in my own life. She's a very private person who lives in seclusion in a castle with numerous cats. She's never given a concert in her life, yet she's sold millions of records and songs. She invented her own language, which she used to record some songs for the film "The Lord of the Rings." Absolutely all of her singles are works of art. She owns houses and castles valued at over $30 million and, like a vampire, she doesn't seem to age.

Respondiendo a la segunda pregunta, no lo pensaría dos veces: me gustaría cambiar de vida con la cantante escocesa Enya. Soy un ferviente admiradora de todo su trabajo musical y discográfico desde que tengo memoria, y su calidad de vida es algo a lo que aspiro en algún momento de la mía. Ella es una persona muy reservada que vive aislada en un castillo con numerosos gatos. Nunca ha dado conciertos en su vida, pero ha vendido millones de copias de discos y canciones. Beyond all she has accomplished, I long to reach the point where she is, for the peace she feels. I firmly believe that people who adopt this kind of lifestyle do so not for fame or fortune, but for the richness of their overall education, including their spiritual development. They are elevated individuals who have grasped many things and put them into practice. Her life can be summed up as absolute peace, and I, having lived in chaos for so long, yearn for nothing more than peace and to be peace for others. I have been in chaos and in the shadows for a considerable part of my life, and although I integrate them as part of who I am, I seek tranquility, not to silence my conscience, but because I believe that is the meaning of life.

Más allá de todo lo que ha logrado y alcanzado, quisiera llegar al punto donde ella se encuentra, por la paz que siente. Creo fervientemente que las personas que adoptan este tipo de estilo de vida no lo hacen por la fama o la fortuna, sino por la riqueza de su educación en general, incluyendo la espiritual. Son personas elevadas que han comprendido muchas cosas y las han puesto en práctica. La vida de ella se resume en una paz absoluta, y yo, después de haber vivido en el caos durante mucho tiempo, no anhelo más que la paz y ser paz para los demás. Furthermore, there's a stigma that a musician is only truly great when they're famous, but success doesn't lie in that. It lies in producing quality work, conveying a message, having a personal style that allows people to recognize your music, building a community, and doing what you're truly passionate about. That's true stardom. Often, fame can be your worst downfall, and it's something musicians face every day. It's not just about overcoming ego death, but about dealing with your own demons, which can manifest as addictions capable of destroying you. We've seen this with many greats, like Freddie Mercury, among others, who were crushed by the weight of their burdens, something Enya managed to overcome.

Además, existe el estigma de que un músico es realmente grande cuando es famoso, pero el éxito no reside en eso. Se encuentra en realizar un trabajo de calidad, en transmitir un mensaje, en tener un sello personal que permita a la gente reconocer tu música al escucharla, en construir una comunidad y en hacer lo que realmente te apasiona.
