My 165th Sunday Weekly Hive Goals and Progress Update: Diving into VSC, Solid Growth All Around, and Deeper into the Pools! - GaiaYoga Gardens, Lower Puna, Far East Big Island, Hawai'i - Sunday, July 27, 2025

My last Sunday Weekly Hive Goals and Progress Update can be found here. This goals-and-progress post serves as my weekly participation in the Saturday Savers Club.

Welcome to my 165th Sunday Weekly Hive Goals and Progress Update! Steady growth punctuated by solid leaps seems to characterize my myriad Hive investment, and that holds true for last week as well. Most of the leaps over the past week have been in layer 2, particularly in diesel/liquidity pools.

One very interesting bit of news is that I took part in the recent VSC/Altera giveaway on X, so I received 1 HIVE, that was sent to an ETH address of one of my EVM wallets. I've been figuring out how VSC, and its present frontend, Altera, work, and I've learned a lot over the past week. Since each wallet that we use to connect to Altera/VSC is treated separately, it's necessary to have at least 1 liquid HBD in each wallet that we intend to use, so that we have suffient Resource Credits for transactions. I'm still in the process of accumulating liquid HBD to send to each of the three main wallets that I'll be using, my Hive account of course, along with Atomic Wallet and Trust Wallet. Given that I intend and plan to invest and dive in deep into leveraging and growing assets on VSC, I want to get myself prepared as much as possible now.

I continue to invest hard into assorted diesel/liquidity pools, both by boosting those where I already have assets, and adding several new ones. VSC will have diesel/liquidity pools as well, for all sorts of off-chain assets, and all paired with HBD, which means that VSC will soon be a major sink for my liquid HBD, which up until now has all gone into Savings. I'm not sure exactly what to do about that yet, since I have growing my HBD in Savings as a high priority. I'll figure something out, and I'll find a way, somehow.

I'd say it's just about time to jump into the numbers, to see how I actually did last week. Tallyho we go!

Over the past week I gained +56.77 HP, +8.288 HBD in Savings, and +0.03 Reputation points, which means that I still have 4,645.474 HP, 78.148 HBD in Savings, and 0.39 Reputation points to go to reach my year-end goals. I deposited less HBD into Savings this time around because I needed it to deposit into VSC for Resource Credits, but that was thankfulluly compensated by claiming 6+ HBD in Savings interest earlier in the week.

In terms of my HiveBuzz rankings, I dropped -1 place for HP, I dropped -2 places for HBD in Savings, and I jumped +13 places for Reputation, so yeah, definitely not my most amazing week here. I keep growing in all three areas, but apparently some others are growing faster then I am. At least the one ranking in the positive is double digits.

I decided to change my year-end goal for staked ALIVE from 100,000 to 50,000, as that is the next tipping tier, and it's also a lot more feasible at the moment. 100,000 staked ALIVE will likely be my goal for next year.
