I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 7 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙

Well, I'm sad to say that after 3 days our community internet connection is still non-functional, even after many hours of troubleshooting during that time. Yes, it's super inconvenient, and it makes everything that I have to do online take so much longer, since it must be accomplished on my phone, though I am very grateful that I do have my phone, of course.
There is a glimmer of hope, however, since we've been investigating the possibility of getting StarLink, and it's looking like we may indeed be able to do so for less money each month, and with higher bandwidth/faster speeds than our present system. The idea will be proposed to Leadership Council tomorrow, Monday, and if all goes well, which I believe that it will, we may potentially be able to acquire a StarLink unit in Kea'au or Hilo, and have it set up and running before the end of the day, which would be glorious. I really think that this is the best option, as the setup is so much simpler than our present system, and StarLink is pretty much the best commercially-available internet on the planet at the moment.
We'll even be able to set up the StarLink unit up in the same place as our present dual-broadband mobile-network router, but it would be positioned on the roof of the Doghouse (a weather-proof structure built out on the lava to house the router, and connect it to the tower antenna), instead of inside it. That is extremely convenient indeed. It could just be connected to the ethernet cable that gives internet access to the whole community, and we'd be good to go, easy-peasy.
Back in the world of investing, and leveraging and growing assets on Hive (and elsewhere), the more that I observe, analyze, cross-reference, and test multitudinous income-stream sources, it's becoming clear to me that to be able to generate and grow consistent and substantial income in many very useful and valuable assets, that it's necessary to get as close to the very top of several important diesel/liquidity pools as possible, both on my own account, and in my asset-leveraging endeavors for the We Are Alive Tribe. On BeeSwap it's very easy to see the liquidity positions for any Hive account, and the daily liquidity rewards that they receive, which is extremely helpful in choosing liquidity goals for each pool. I've basically got to become a pool whale on my account, and on the 'We Are Alive Tribe' accounts where I manage pools. For quite a few pools this is a formitable challenge, but I think that it's very much worth the investment.
Building and growing a robust community economy and financial system for the We Are Alive Tribe, with multitudes of very-substantial income streams in our desired assets, will indeed require a large investment into several excellent pools, and in an array of significant income tokens, which is why Ben and I are both using our own assets consistently over time to make it happen. We're part way there, but we've got a long way to go still, and on multiple accounts. I'll be doing my once-weekly thorough asset management for the We Are Alive Tribe today, but this week it must be completed on my phone, so I may take me a good portion of the day. I won't leave the Flow House until my mission is completed, because it's important. Every day we're getting closer to our goal of a truly awesome decentralized community economy and financial system, that both strongly supports, and benefits us all increasingly more over time.
Yesterday, Saturday, I left the Flow House, after finishing up my Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks on my phone, by around 2:30PM, giving my attention first to some photography for my posts, after which I attended to a few small community tasks, including chopping and dumping bad/used coconuts at the upper coco bar, and tidying up the area a bit, as well as rehanging the 'GaiaYoga Gardens' sign back on the telephone pole in front of the first driveway, after it had partially fallen. I also spend a bit more time troubleshooting our internet issue, again to no avail. I finally wrapped things up by around 5PM, headed to the Landing first to heat myself up some leftover food that I had in the fridge, and then with that and my jar of leftover superfood fire coffee in hands, I made my way back to the Flow House to begin my evening Hive tasks. I was able to get everything done surprisingly early, especially using my phone, by around 9PM, and after some asset management, I went to bed by a bit after 10:30PM. I woke up around 7AM, having slept well, doing more asset management, going to make my superfood fire coffee in the Landing, then returning to the Flow House to write this post. It's now just before 12:45PM, so it's a fantastic time to wrap this up, so that I may attend to my other important Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, before going to help Alex (who will be proposing StarLink to Leadership Council tomorrow) to reinstall the battery monitor on our solar electrical system, and then on a few small community tasks. 2026 Life Goals
1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.
2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.
3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.
4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.

Sorry to hear about your internet being out. Starlink seems like a great solution. I have thought about using it myself at some point.
You say you're using your phone during this situation, which I guess means you use a laptop or computer when you have internet. I'm wondering if your phone has the ability to be a mobile hotspot which would then allow you to use your regular device. That's what I do when my net is out.

Thanks a lot, Kenny, and yes, that's looking very much ti he the case. I've actually been thinking about getting 8t just for myself, but I think that it will work very well for our community too.
I go back and forth between my phone and my laptop constantly, as some things are quicker or easier using one or the other. I write and publish posts using my phone, and I used to respond to most notifications on my phone, but not long ago I got into the habit of doing so mostly on my laptop, since it was so much quicker and more convenient. Also, when I'm doing community tasks and asset management, being able to quickly and easily switch between tabs in the browser on my laptop just makes things so much quicker. Yes, my phone can create a hotspot, but sadly I already used up all my data for it trying to keep my Qortal node online through the night.

It's called a Brazilian grapetree, or jabuticaba, and yes, in this part of Hawai'i they are quite common. They have delicious purple fruit that grow all over the branches and the trunk. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
