Comfort Meets Cool, K-Fashion Effects.
So one thing I will never lie about is how Koreans really know how to dress ,like, no matter their gender or age, they just know how to put their outfits together in a way that looks fine but is also very simple, that is how I first started getting interested in K-Fashion, It all started when I was i started watching Kdrama and I found myself admiring more of what they were wearing than even the drama plot itself, I think it was the drama "Boy over Flowers" I saw first.
You see, those their oversized jackets, baggy jeans, white sneakers, tiny sling bags, and that their straight-cut trouser, ehn... that is just what I call clean fashion, I even started noticing how even their street fashion is very organized , it is not too loud also not too basic, it is like something that says “I know what I am doing” vibe, you get ? And trust me, it started affecting how I was dressing too.
And at some point, I just went online and searched for “Korean girl casual outfit inspo,” and from there, I found so many pins and ideas especially on Pinterest, I started trying to recreate the looks ,you know now, wearing long sleeves under short sleeves, bucket hats, layering things properly, and sticking to calm colors like beige, white, grey, or soft pastels, lol... I remember one time like that, my sister looked at me and said, “Shey you think you are acting in a Korean film ni?” I just laughed.
Let’s not even talk about their K-pop idols ,those ones can wear sack and still make it fashion, I always like the way they always look so polished, whether they are on stage or they are just casually walking through the airport, It is that kind of effortless look that me i like. I am not even trying to become a full-time fashionista, but I just love how they make everyday dressing look so cool and relaxed.
And one more thing that I noticed with this K-Fashion is how they always prioritize comfort and coordination, as in you hardly see anything too tight or overly dramatic, Even when it is stylish, it will still looks breathable ,I started applying that to my wardrobe too , like, I stopped forcing tight clothes or uncomfortable shoes. Now, if it’s not chill and stylish, I’m not wearing it , you hardly see me in anything that's uncomfortable, like I don't like stress.
These days, even when I want to go out casually, I find myself dressing like someone that just walked out of a Kdrama set somehow, Omo... just give me my baggy jeans, a tucked-in tee, sneakers, and a soft makeup look I am ready to go,And it actually makes me feel more confident, like I put thought into my look without stressing too much.
So yeah, out of all the K-content I have tried or followed, K-Fashion is one that has actually entered my lifestyle like really well, I do not even need to break bank to dress that way , I just try to recreate the vibe in my own small way. It is minimal, it is soft, and it is also very cute and that’s all that matters.
