CineTV Contest 135 : Sound Of Music [ Favourite Movie Featuring A Mother].

For this contest , I will choosing from the many movies out there, I will be picking “Sound of Music” , yeah yeah , it seems like an odd choice but I will tell you my reasons and they go thus:

In sound of music , the movie centers around music per say, but the character Maria played in the life of the Seven children of Captain George Von was so spectacular and extraordinary. This children had been living in the care of their father who is a captain, and the little assistance he got from the domestic workers, the children didn't know what it's like to have a mom around and had always been adhering to their father strict military child upbringing , though their dad had a finance who he wanted to marry but she wasn't in anywhere thinking about caring for the children until Maria came, Maria who is a nun in training was sent to be a governess to the kids, and I guess her being in their life changed it forever.

At first she had found it difficult being with the kids , she was but a gentle woman , she didn't give up, slowly the kids felt her warmth and never wanted to be apart from her , she bought in joy , hope and also the love of music in to their life and slowly she also gained the love of the Captain, and the kids love was much more was she won over , you know how they say mothers are a good gift to life itself, this is very much so true cause this is what Maria represented in the Household, mothers are source of joy, happiness, light that lights up the whole household.
Maria was kind and this got her the love of the Captain, and to say children that she didn't give birth to became hers and she loved her so much, she did things that no one ever did for them, like she removed the dark clouds that were hovering around them, the did that just by being healed, what a woman should be known for, what a mother should stand out for , she was that without even faking it.

Maria took her time to understand the feelings of the children from the he youngest to the oldest, she knew they were dealing with the loss of their mother , she didn't try to impose authority on them ,she herself never had any knowledge about kids , she was just being herself ,she understood that the kids needed connection, they needed understanding, they needed love and they needed their childhood back , she didn't disrespect the Captain, but she stood her ground on giving the children their childhood they had been missing out on , she introduced them to a lot of fun and educative things which was all natural to children.

I love her character so much that when I saw this topic it was just this movie that came to my mind and I knew that I just had to write about it , even when I tried to think of something else I still felt connect to this particular movie “Sound of Music” .
Even though she fell in love with the captain and they later got married, she was a good mother figure to them , she helped emotionally, physically, he healed their broken hearts . So tell me if this isn't what a mother stands for. Like just say if this isn't what qualifies someone to be a mother.
