Behind The Scenes Vigilante Energy.

If you gave me huge money today and asked if I would become a crime, fighting vigilante… honestly, I don’t think I would be out here jumping from rooftop to rooftop up and down, come on, let’s be real, I don’t even like stress like that, and with the way this our Nigeria is set up, before you even land from one building, someone would have already shouted, Thief! and then now misinterpreted your whole mission, oya o!!! No thank you.

But then will I use my money to support crime fighting? Yes. A big, a very big yes at that.

Because the truth is that we relying on corrupt authorities in this country is like pouring water into a basket and now expecting it to hold, Omo hold wetin? Nah... you will just be frustrated for nothing, see sometimes, you see things happening around you and you just shake your head, because the people meant to protect you are either sleeping, looking away, or waiting for something for the weekend, like do you get? It’s really exhausting.

So if I had the money, yes, I would definitely back an organisation that is serious about reducing crime, not those ones that just mount roadblocks to intimidate people and collect small change on the road, I mean real crime fighting groups with structure, training, accountability and enough sense.

So I’m talking about things like:

— supporting community watch groups that actually do their job

— funding security tech like CCTV in major places

— sponsoring legal teams to help victims get justice

— helping with awareness programs that keep youths out of crime

— supporting survivors of crimes so they do not become vulnerable again

You know… the kind of things that can actually change a community.

Because lets face it, crime doesn’t just come out of thin air, It actually grows from poverty, frustration, lack of opportunities, and a government that keeps promising next level, while everybody is just struggling for the next meal, so sometimes the best way to fight crime is to empower people so they don’t feel cornered into doing nonsense.

I know myself that I am not built for vigilante kind of work, I won’t be wearing black mask and carrying weapons around like some movie hero, nah.... I don’t need that adrenaline, But I know with money? I will gladly be the silent investor behind the scenes, giving people who know how to handle that area the resources they need to do their work well.

Because imagine having the power to actually make your environment safer, like to know that the kids playing outside can do so without fear, To know your neighbor coming home late won’t be robbed, to know people don’t have to sleep with one eye open, that kind of peace? Ah, that is priceless.

And honestly, sometimes you don’t need to be the person in front, you just need to be the one making sure things happen, that is the lane I am comfortable with, Let the professionals handle the crime chasing, and I will handle the financial backing, everybody plays their part.

So no, I won’t be a vigilante running around town, But if the money is there, then yes I would one hundred percent support the fight against crime in my community, because waiting for authorities to get better is like waiting for NEPA to stop taking light permanently, so we do hope, but we know better.

And if my little or big contribution can help even one person live safer, then I think seriously, it is worth every naira.
