So flat, so beautiful - where the fields smile back at you

I want to welcome you to Prekmurje, the happy little corner of Slovenia that honestly feels like its own magical world! 🌻🍷

It’s super flat here. Like, pancake flat. And who doesn’t love pancakes, right? The Prekmurje plain is huge , around 600 square kilometers of pure beauty. So flat, you could probably play pool on it. And when the sun sets? Oh wow... the sky goes full drama mode, like it’s putting on a private show just for us.

We’ve got fields everywhere! Corn, pumpkins, wheat, sunflowers… it’s like nature opened a supermarket and said, “Help yourself!” You turn left — BOOM, sunflowers. Turn right — BAM, cornfields. Even our scarecrows are chill. 😄 Farming here? It’s not just work, it’s a way of life. And sometimes, it even looks like the tractors are dancing in the morning mist. 🚜✨

Now the food... oof, don’t get me started. We’ve got gibanica.... it’s a cake with more layers than your auntie's drama. ( I’m not a fan, but a lot of people is). And the wine flows smoother than our Sunday jokes. Homecooked food? Of course. And who’s the best cook? My mom! (Babe, don’t be mad.... but mom’s cooking is still unbeatable! 😅)

When I come home, I’m always happy. Nature, kind people, birds singing, warm food on the table ....what else do you need?

And guess what? You can still walk around at night, smile on your face, no fear, just peace. That’s the kind of life we’ve got here.

Oh ...and we’ve got spas and pools too! Why? Because we struck gold — well, black gold to be exact. 😄 We discovered black thermal mineral water here, and trust me, it’s something special.

You know where? In Moravske Toplice — you probably heard of it already, right? Maybe even the whole world knows it! This place is famous for the black thermal water. It comes from 967 to 1467 meters deep, around 54°C, a bit oily, salty, and smells like oil, but it’s a healing miracle! For over 60 years, people come here to heal their joints, nerves, skin, and soul. It was even named a natural healing source in 1964.

They call it black gold, and once you try it, you’ll see why. They say this kind of water is rare — maybe even one of a kind in the world. I don’t know if that’s 100% true, but if it is… WOW. 😲

Oh, and for the kids, so many slides they’ll forget how to swim and just want to play all day. 😂

Honestly, I don’t have any photos from there (yet!) because when I go swimming, that’s my chill time, no camera, no phone. But don’t worry, next time I go, I’ll fly the drone and show you Moravske Toplice from the sky too!
