The Business of Division and the Price of Silence

Source
This nation was not divided, they engineered the division, because they've seen that it actually works better if the country is divided freely. The bill has to be sent to ordinary people and they are the one paying the bill of division. Whether we are just waking up now as a country or we are never going to wake up, that is our own cup of tea.
We are to live with this thing forever. In 1925, this cartoon was actually made and it depicts the likes of China, India and Africa. And United States and European imperialists were actually being given a warning.
It's not a prediction to be sincere, but the simple reality that one day, the country that announced this will one day grow to become the big guy. But as it is now, only China and India has become the big guy. A lot of African countries that should have developed themselves to become a giant of Africa, they are nowhere to be found.
The likes of Nigeria is actually out of the radar. I don't even know what this country is turning into, but let's put that aside. Nearly a century later, the truth of rulership has changed but the logic has not.
Destruction is still a tool in the hands of political people. And diverting attention with noise, outrages, cultural wars and a lot of hearsay with rumors of war still keep people focused on each other instead of focusing on the system and how to manage money and power and use it for the good of your own people. Division has remained a business tool and in the hands of politicians, it is a must-have.
It is not an accident. The question you might be asking is, okay, with all this thing that is happening, are people even waking up to what is going on and to fight against it? No, people are actually sleeping on it. There is clearly more global awareness than before.
When it comes to being politically aware of your environment and surroundings, thanks to social media that is making information so fast passed across all over the world and a country at a go, it's got so serious that if some country wants to start an internal war, they will first bring down the internet because the power of social media is now greater than what some CIA people can do when it comes to bringing in fake news. You can see something different on the news and you can have a TikToker carry his camera there and record what is actually happening part-time in real life and that will change the story of what is happening and that is the kind of world that we are living in. A cheap internet can mean a protest in Lagos.
A farmer's video from India or a lockdown story in China can circulate worldwide within just minutes. People are connecting the dots everywhere and inequality, imperialism, death, climate and corporate capture in ways earlier generations simply couldn't. There are now more and more conversations about colonial histories.
We now have more access to data, ability to research and know what happened in the past and there is a global supply chain that needs to be checked out. We need to know where this one is coming from and where it is going. With that done, we can be able to know what we should do next as a person and how our country is faring.
But the craziest part is that with all these things even happening, the country is still not better, especially some countries. We can just talk more about it, try and hold the government accountable but no, these guys will decide not to do what is right but will decide to create diversions and noise instead of tackling the issue. Even viral comebacks of this old cartoon shows a growing appetite for questions that should really benefit us as a nation.
But that is not the case. You might be asking, are we still being divided? There are some countries that have worked around their division and they have brought themselves together so that they can fight a common enemy. And there are some countries that are still muddling up inside divisions.
What I mean is that there is civil war in the north, there is this in the south, there is that in the west. The eastern part of the country is not settled. Such a country will never have any guts to move forward or stand before the big global 6 or global 20.
They will be busy with looking for funds to rebuild their own country. There is this saying that there is more information than there will be more fragmentation. When people know much, their ability to break off becomes imminent.
There is only one or few things that I know that changes the game and that is waking up isn't just about the awareness, it is about alignment. A few things really move the heavy. When people start asking, who is profiting from this? Before reacting to any client conflict or media outrage, when workers, creators and communities in places like China, India, Africa and global west recognize this shared economic struggle.
If their culture and politics differs, then there is need for work to be done. There is also a way where a country can teach its own populace financial literacy if this is very well done. The growth of that country will surely see an increase.
The place where we are now is a messy middle. Enough people are waking up to worry about the system and some people are being distracted. But the enough people who are getting concerned are not enough in number to cause a revolution.
And that is just what is happening. A quiet awakening is going to happen one day. And Nigeria, which is supposed to be the giant of Africa, who is now the fly or the mosquito of Africa, is going to become who you use and fly higher, daring the entire African subcontinent one day.
