Iran’s Three-Day Farewell: The State Funeral of Ayatollah Khamenei Amid Escalating Conflict

Iran has just announced that there is a plan for a three-day state funeral for his former leader, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei Ali but the date has not yet been announced maybe because of security reasons or the other. Iran officials have said that the funeral will be a very big one and it will be a three-day ceremony honoring the great leader who was killed in the US Israeli strike during the opening phase of the Middle East war.

Though the Middle East war keeps expanding and getting more terrible, we believe that Trump is going to reach a deal soon. We don't know what that is going to be but one of the very few first casualties of the war is the leader of Iran. The plan for this ceremony is to be held in three major cities and they all surround Iran's religious and political life.

The first is Tehran, where at least 24 hours is expected then. The second one is Qom, which is a Shia religious center. The third one is Mashhad, which is where Khamenei comes from and that is his home city.

People of Iran are expecting up to 20 million people over three days, highlighting both the scale and logistic challenges. The reason why the funeral was delayed is to enable the country to actually plan a proper burial for him. In the meantime, Iran has held large nationwide memorial and 40-day commemoration instead of the former state funeral, keeping his memory and political symbol alive while the war continues.

Immediately the war of United States against Iran nuclear and military infrastructure came, one of the very few first casualties was Khamenei, we should understand that, and it means the war will escalate deeper and deeper, further and further.
