The price of silver ...
Adding silver using the DCA method
I know plenty of people buy dips and sell on highs but for me, as a fairly new silver collector, I just buy when I have funds to do so. Some months ago, I started to do regular (at least once a month) buys and every now and then there's a bonus buy when I see something I want.
Last week, I had a hunch to check one of the trusted sellers I've been buying from and it was good that I did because now he uploaded plenty of 1 ounce silver rounds while before it was mostly silver dimes and stuff like that. I was hoping that eventually he'd add silver ounces and I got what I wished!
Setting myself a budget for this buy, I picked 4 ounces of silver rounds which I will not disclose here because two of them I bought as a secret Santa optional gift. Of course I don't know who I'll have yet so I might end up having to buy something else but I wanted to try and be prepared anyway.
Picking them up today
Thankfully for me I can admire them today because I just got the notification that the package is ready to be picked up. Yay for me. Even more yay knowing that they already are more valuable today than they were when I bought them last week, lol. Honestly I only noticed this because of the silver gold stackers discord, otherwise I'd not even notice it because of using the DCA method buying silver..
Price in Euros
Below a screenshot I took a few days ago when I read that the price of silver went up, I admit that I never really keep track and just buy when I can. DCA is my way to go currently but that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy seeing the value going up just after I bought 4 oz of silver a few days ago.
Funnily I see the price in Dollars has a spike in there:
Yesterday I decided to take another screenshot to see if the price stayed up:
Finally, today's price:
Nice, it's even better. Feels extra good to pick up my silver order later! Usually I buy one ounce at a time but this time I bought 4 at once so I feel really happy just buying before the rise of the silver price. Can't say I hate what I see lol, but it won't stop me from buying new silver next month either because as I mentioned, DCA it is for me.
Let's see what the price does in the next weeks..

They are already in the picture as I picked it up after I wrote the post but hadn't published yet. But I want to keep them optional to gift someone for secret Santa so I guess they will be in line for a bit longer to publish about them.
I have other silver still not published too so that's fine :)

I have never imagined for silver to look like that. I thought they would just look like regular bars like gold but I guess that exist too. :D
Haha, well they exist too but that's a bit of a bigger investment, especially the gold ones, lol. You can buy silver and gold in tiny rounds or bars just one gram, very cute:
That's so cool haha. I can see why people would collect them now. I thought they would just look boring/plain bar. 🤣 Is this better than investing in jewelry form? Or I guess jewelry it would be more expensive since you also pay for the design, wearability, etc as well.
Oh there's a whole world out there.. there's a silver gold stackers community for a reason :)
I think there's no one size fits all solution for everyone in terms of investing. It's about your own preferences as much as your budget I guess. I love it when I find some silver jewellery that looks amazing but is a steal at the same time and wish I was able to hold on to jewellery from when I was younger as it would have been so valuable now. BUT I'm definitely trying to teach my daughter to be smart and show her how cool collecting silver is so she will know the value later..
Best deals of jewellery are probably those gems you find on flea markets but I've seen too many hunters for these things out there that it's not easy to find (at least here).
But I can tell you that silver rounds can make you feel in awe too, the details are often crazy. One I have in my collection and love because both sides are so crazily detailed. They are pictures taken with my phone as I don't have time to shoot them with the camera now but you probably see the details well enough already:

"Nothing goes up in a straight line."
Believe me that I am happy to see this long awaited price action, believing that the fundamentals will finally assert their natural course. But sad that I couldn't get this any cheaper anymore.
I remember ten years ago buying my first four silver Maple Leafs, I carried them with me all day knowing that I did the right thing. They were almost $32CAD the, up and down lots since, buying regularly.
I've dipped into my Emergency reserve savings a little too much in the last two months but seeing that chunk of cash being eaten away by real Inflation while earning very little Interest income is bothersome and illogical.
Keep on Stacking @thisismylife ❤️
