I would like to offer my opinion to address those questions, if you don't mind.
There could be a way around so that the cornerstone of the Hive blockchain, i.e. decentralization, is not compromised, while certain marketing targets can be achieved, at the same time.
I would suggest building relationships, partnerships, and connections with online platforms and websites where the assets of Hive can increase their utility, recognition, market traction, etc.
These platforms need to embrace and not affect the decentralized model of Hive in any way.
One example could be to direct marketing efforts toward big online marketplaces where Hive and HBD would be accepted as payment methods.
In this way, the utility and appeal of Hive and HBD would increase, without a negative effect on decentralization.
This is just a general thought of mine, and other more experienced and knowledgeable Hiveans could perfect the idea and check whether and how it can work in practice.
Reaching out such a marketplace is important.
If they come to realize the huge buying power of the global customer base of Hiveans, I am sure they will not hesitate to accept Hive and/or HBD as a means of payment, similarly to how other big online retailers accept Bitcoin.
Of course, the social activity and engagement on the Hive ecosystem, which is its real power, I think, will not be affected, and this would be valued positively by potential partners.
