Splinterlands: The Big Higg Finally Pulls a Jackpot Card!

A couple weeks ago I was discussing my primary Splinterlands account with @bozz . It has always been a rather unlucky account even before the days of Chaos. I never pulled gold foil legendary card in over a year of playing, however, my secondary account, initially created for a scholar, got several! I mentioned that my primary account must be cursed... Apparently the curse may be lifting, at least a little bit anyway!
A couple days ago while playing Frontier Mode after completing a daily reward I got a huge surprise. I had managed to pull a Jackpot Card! These are exclusive cards that can only be won by completing daily rewards and there is only a two percent chance of scoring one. I finally managed to win one, not only was it a rare card, but a gold foil!
When you win a Jackpot Card this is what you see in the rewards:

The flip is always nerve racking, always hoping for a legendary or maybe even an arcane card. But today just gold!

I already did have a gold foil copy of this card I had bought on the market for very, very cheap some time ago. Sadly, I found it a very hard card to use. Now with the second copy I was able to combine them to a much more usable level 3!

The melee attack increased to 3 making the sneak attack all that more effective! It is however a fairly high mana card as are many Foundations cards, but now I think I can use it to make a difference in battles. Level 4 would be even better with poison, but that required two more cards and they aren't inexpensive right now!

What would a Splintelands post be without a decent battle? Boring I say! So let's see the Necrulencian Thief in action!
You can see the whole battle here at this link.

Now for the battle which was in Modern. Since I was aching to make use of my shiny new toy, I decided to go with a death team. I was a 59 mana cap with the modifiers of Rise of the Commons and No Pain, no Gain. For my archon I chose the only one I have usable in Modern, my Thalgrimore which decreases the health of each monster on the opposing team by one. For my tank I chose Ujurak Brave followed by Dark Arborist. Then to round out the team and I went with Gravebrand Warlock, Mindless Thrall, Necrulencian Thief and Meriput Slinger.
My opponent chose to go with Nomos as archon and using Ulundin Overseer as a tank. That was followed by Drybone Megalodon , Grove Doomblade, Mindless Thrall, Chaos Evoker, and Oshannus Unmade. One big disadvantage I saw right away was the Mindless Thrall was level 2 so was missing the extra magic attack that starts at level 3.
I have never successfully used the Necrulencian Thief in battle before, so I was hoping for the best here!

After one round the Necrulencian Thief took out the Oshannus Unmade. So far so good!

By round 3 my opponent's tank was down for the count.

And midway through so was mine! lol Here Necrulencian Thief just defeated Chaos Invoker with the three melee attack.

Now we are getting close to end game, but I have a one card advantage starting round 4!

Down to two cards against three, it wasn't looking good for my opponent at this point.

And the Necrulencian Thief strikes the final blow ending the match. Great game! With this card leveled up to level 3 it really is a strong addition to my death teams in Modern and Frontier. I'm excited to have it and hopefully it will comes in handy increasing my win percentage in both modes!

Six Foundations Packs Opened!
I always like to include some of the packs I open from my daily winnings. Sometimes you get lucky, sometime you don't, but you never know until you try!

First bunch aren't too bad, a water archon Marlai Singariel and a gold Kanaaq Miner. The epic Ash Archer is pretty good too. Time Bandit although just a rare card is very useful thanks to the cleanse ability!

Again not too bad, two fire archons and one earth archon Aurelia.

And last a Saltwater Mage which is an epic water card. They tend to be fairly expensive so this one I will likely put up for sale. I do have my team already maxed out, so at this point I usually sell cards or in some case just give them away. Some just don't sell well and almost aren't even worth listing, so I do occasionally gift those to help some newer players to build up their decks.
But pack openings are always fun, I hope you enjoyed today's bunch! Splinterlands is a fun game and free to play in Frontier Mode. So give a try, if you haven't joined in on the fun of playing Splinterlands you can join here: https://splinterlands.com?ref=thebighigg

That will do it for this week's Splinterlands post. I do hope you enjoyed it, I do try to keep them interesting. Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below, and thanks for all of your support! It really is greatly appreciated! Have a great day everyone!

Actually sneak cards were always one of my favorites. I have actually checked any of those foundational cards, I just play TNT Guild only. Great games, also you have some cool new summoners.
