Silver Tops $100, And A Beautiful Silver Peace Dollar

We've made it to another Friday! It always feels good to see the day roll around even though I no longer go into an office like I used to. These days I work from home, and rarely even travel anymore. That I do kind of miss, it was fun working in other big cities around the country for a few days every now and again!

Today has been a very big day in the world of silver investing, silver has surpassed the $100 per Troy ounce mark for the first time ever. I'll dive into silver just a bit later in the post. First I have a very beautiful lady to share in the form of a Peace Dollar.

In the United States it was the start of the roaring 1920's and World War I was becoming a bad memory having ended in 1918. To celebrate the end of the war, a new silver dollar coin was designed and designated the Peace Dollar. The final selection was one of the most beautiful coins the country had ever produced. Here's a 1925 Peace Dollar:

About the coin:

From numista.com

Although Morgan Dollars are my favorites to collect, the silver Peace Dollar is probably the prettiest silver coin the United States has ever produced. It's a shame it's run was so short. This particular coin was minted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a place I know well having lived there for a few years. That year they minted just over 10,000,000 of these at the mint, so they aren't horribly rare. This one isn't quite perfect and it has some signs of wear, so I would put it value at about $140+, and the bullion value of the coin itself is $77.17. These are highly collectible and you will always end up paying a premium.

I have mentioned this in the past, but it is interesting, so let's touch on it again for those who didn't read my posts from over a year ago. The coin was designed by Anthony de Francisci, an Italian immigrant who became an American citizen in 1913. At the time he couldn't afford a model so he used his wife as the model to create this image of Liberty. Teresa de Francisci, born in Italy in 1898, migrated at four years of age to the US and married her husband at age 20. She in now forever immortalized in this coin forever!

Here you can see her profile picture and how it matches the Peace Dollar, she was a pretty lady!

Public Domain

She lived to the ripe old age of 92 and died back in 1990. But her image will live on indefinitely!

Silver Tops $100 For First Time

Some time ago I was talking with @bozz about when silver would hit $100. My guess was around St. Patrick's Day, boy was I wrong. Then earlier this week I predicted silver would finally make the push past the $100 per Troy ounce mark for the first time ever, and that's exactly what it did. Continued critical supply issues are fueling this drive up the charts, many companies including Tesla can't get the silver they need to build their electronics, cars, and batteries. This silver price climb is still far from over, and the $300 prediction from Bank of America is starting to look more and more feasible.

Here's silver over the last month alone:

From kitco.com

Invest in silver now is my recommendation, you aren't to late to jump on the silver rocket to the stars!

That will wrap up my post for this Friday, I do hope you enjoyed it. I love silver Peace Dollars, they are beautiful and elegant and arguably the prettiest coin the United States has ever produced. Don't be late to buy into silver, the rally is far from over, there may be a brief correction and a time to buy in the next days. But buy is what I recommend.

Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below, and thank you for all of your support everyone! I really do deeply appreciate it. Have a safe and great weekend!

Whatever is impacting the price of silver, let it keep going up. Not sure who it was that shared a while back that they read where silver could go up to $300, but Im waiting for that then I'm selling it all :-)

I like the Peace Dollar as well. Probably not as much as the Morgan, but I do like it. Interesting that he used his wife as the model. She lived a long life though and like you said, her image will continue on for sometime to come.

I picked up some silver lately for FREE :-) using the codes @bulliontools talked about. Got a Morgan and a Washington Commemorative Half.

Love the Peace dollars, I recall having 9 of them in my stack when I got them from my father's estate.
$100+/Troy oz. for fine silver. I'm getting that vague feeling of being fiat rich, in terms of ounces I don't know for sure since I lost count a few years ago.
I'm due for a recount.

It does feel good to be sitting on a pile of silver doesn't it? I love the Peace Dollar, such a nice coin. That count should prove interesting!

I need to dig down in the basement and see what we have in terms of silver dishes down there. I will have to be careful and do it covertly so my wife doesn't know. I'm kidding. I wouldn't touch that stuff.

When I can invest, I will, hehehe, in the future. For now, I'm content with investing for my snacks.
