I totally agree. I never understood why so many people were against short form content. I personally would love to see portals like instagram, X, and even Facebook. When we fist started out on Steem I used to call what we have a blogging platform, and everyone would correct me saying, "Oh no, it's so much more." However, whenever anyone tries to do anything outside of long form blogging content, there seems to be a lot of people speaking out against it.
Like you said, people want to be on a platform where their friends are at. Not everyone enjoys long form content. By incorporating instagram and X like platforms, we onboard other people.
I'm no developer and I suck at coding. I know d.buzz tried to put a cap on rewards. That would be the fair solution. Limit shortform content to a smaller percentage of the awards and then expand our reach into avenues of social networks, ie; X, instagram, Facebook style short form content. I too think Hive could and should be way more than it is. That's just my two sats man!
for sure. ya a cap would work, it makes sense. i’m not sure my daily updates of my hikes are worth much but it’s just so that people feel valued.
