We are here at Badshahi Masjid~ Let's see Architectural splendor
I am taking you to best examplary Mosque from Mughal era with Munabat kari(stucco work), Parchin Kari(stone and marble inlay work also called as Pietra Dura), Aina Kari(mirror mosaic work), Kashi kari(colored glazed tile work), murqanas(three dimensional structures) and much more architectural symmetry.
This masjid was constructed between 1671 and 1673 by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir. It is known as Badshahi Masjid. In Urdu or in Hindi, badshah word is used to refer to ruler of the time. So, this Masjid being lavish, vast, elegant and splendid called as Badshahi Masjid.
Multi foil arches with inlaying fresco floral work on the entrance wall welcomed us. This was a university tour with amazing class fellows.
From my childhood up till now I had visited this masjid so many time. Anytime I went to Lahore I visit this masjid. And every time I learn a new thing about architecture and about the history of this masjid. I never get bored by visiting such architectural masterpieces.

With every tour, i find a new thing to learn. Tours aren't just "go and fun" rather its more like gathering information, experience and learning the way of life. Tour is like wave in the overall sea of life.
Red sandstone building of Masjid was lighting up in my eyes ball. After submitting our shoes to shoes keeper outside the masjid, we stepped into the Masjid where White marble Bulbous Domes were bearing the high intensity of sun rays. The building is standing from centuries and bearing the heat waves of sun from so long.
Oh, but at night when moon shines, then it might smile with love.
By the way, these days i am also having so many complaints against the sun. It is behaving super bitterly and giving us hardest and harshest time ever. It should learn from his companion moon to deliver the passion and energy of love and peace.
My eyes also stucked for a while at Marble fountain that might not be working these days. Once this fountain was also young and living youthful days of life but now it's stuck in Gen-z timeframe.
Are you seeing those white domes along with red Minaret?
That site is Samadhi of Maharaja Ranjit Singh(houses the funerary urns of Maharaja). This site was constructed by son(Kharak singh) of Maharaja and it is important site for Sikhs.
It's what we call religious harmony but it all happened in centuries and this harmony was changed in 1947. This young generation should learn again to love humanity and to be peaceful with each other.
I felt like every architectural style in the Masjid is revolving around a center. "Oneness and omniscient". I stopped to see the geometrical alignment created by Parchin kari(Marble inlay work in the red sandstone of the Masjid).
Every place have something distinctive to make you feel astonished like this Prayer hall that has stunning embellishments of Munabat Kari(Stucco work).
The prayer hall, that has listened to millions, i mean countless prayers of people but it's still silent.
Three dimensional structures over the head, I looked.
So many visitors were taking pictures. My camera was also on!!!
The architecture is getting old and life is happening to these architectural style. Still, at this age, it is holding the hand of grace. It is still beautiful.
I came out but the sun was still there.
My friends were peaking through the arched windows.
Through the arched high windows of badshahi masjid, we can see the gigantic Lahore fort that was constructed during Mughal time period and we can also witness the beauty of Hazuri Bagh that was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
I click so many selfies of me and I was feeling so much cultural person that day. Also my meets were complementing my knowledge that I have a little history knowledge.
We ended up our trip with some group photos. In this photo it was just our group and we didn't included the whole class that was with us on Lahore tour.
There are many moments that I cannot recall right at the moment because time have passed and maybe I don't not have appropriate and right words to express those moments, feelings and emotions. I am just about to graduate, like I am just left with my exams of last term. So I am filled with emotion of gratitude and I want to cry as flashbacks are roaming in my mind and I am recalling before years that I have spent with my fellows.
But,
Never stop moving ! Life will keep on happening to you.
See you next
